The Trio Odyssey

Part I: Soul to Soul

Chapter 16: The Princess of Insanity II

The class that the Princess enters is ongoing.

The Professor reminds the Princess.

“Alright, Ma’am.”

“Before your enrolment into any Occult School, you need to pass all of the requirements to obtain at least the lowest ranking of the Occult Educational Certificate.”

“Occult Schools are higher level educational institutes for mastering Occult Ability. And, they are available across the world too.”

The same energetic Princess raises her hand to express her curiosity.

“Professor! Can I study abroad too?”

The Professor replies.

“Exactly, Ma’am! There are a plethora of Occult Schools in nations outside of the Federation too!”

And, the Professor gestures her way of educating the Princess as she explains things.

“Alright, coming again.”

“Occult Educational Certificate has many rankings; depending on your performance, you will receive the certificate ranging between the average score to the excellent score.”

“And, the certificate is obligatory; everyone has to get it in order to enrol in any Occult School, no matter who they are in status, wealth, power and so on.”

The Princess raises her hand again.

“Professor! Then, does that mean I can meet friends who are not Royals?”

The Professor responds to the Princess’s questions.

“Yes, there are more civilians than just Royals. Maybe nobles or commoners.”

A memory clicks in the Professor’s head, she promptly tells the Princess.

“Oh—, and also there are gentries such as knights, if you were to enrol in the Cazdae Empire, or other nations with it!”

The Princess questions the Professor.

“What about the Semigon Republic?”

“The Semigon Republic is a country full of normal civilians. So, you cannot expect any Royals or nobles from their locals.”

“But if you were to expect them from other countries, then yes.”

The Professor adds up.

“Knowing the fact that your Occult Ability mastery is yet to be completed, you have at most 2 months to complete it.”

“A part of the requirement for the certificate is the Occult Ability mastery. So, please be sure to work hard for it, Ma’am.”

The Professor resumes, gripping her fist, whacking her elbow to the air and winks to the Princess.

“May good fortune be by your side~!”

The Professor relaxes, dotting the next point.

“Now, we shall begin with the Occult Ability posthaste, Ma’am. I repeat: You only have 2 months.”

“And, I’ve reserved for Training Room Section 1 for this.”

The Princess punches toward the sky in excitement.

“Let’s go~!”

As they are to depart from the Tutor Room, the Professor curiously inquires, smiling after the energetic movements of the Princess and picking up the books.

“Hehe—, where did you learn to do all of that?”

The Princess elbows her arms downward.

“I see my half brothers doing it often. Like, Brother Rouseht!”

The Professor adjusts her glasses while she hugs the books.

“I see, it’s His Highness.”

A few minutes passed as they traveled around Heto Palace, and they entered Training Room Section 1.

Then, the Professor is pointing out ways of her lessons.

“I will repeat the fundamentals of mastering the Occult Ability.”

“First and foremost, Oen is the core element that circulates throughout our bodies as the input that functions to leverage our Occult Ability.”

“Without Oen, there will be no Occult Ability, and it will never work.”

“The second thing is Ove. It’s the element that helps us to pivot our Oen from neither overusing it nor lacking it.”

“When we have Oen, we’ll automatically have Ove.”

“With Ove, we’re also able to control the intensity of Osyn that we will produce from our Occult Ability.”

“Finally, Osyn is the impact that we produce from our Occult Ability.”

The Professor calls out a name.

“Livet, come out.”

It’s her Chimeric with a look of various, spectacular combinations of adorable animals; a floating, fat, fluffy cat with large fox ears, with a long spine and three, fluffy tails.

The Princess is mesmerized by the appearance of the Professor’s Chimeric, standing closer to it and taking a closer look.

“Whoa—, it’s Professor Tacha’s Chimeric! It’s cute!”

The Professor nods lightly, closing her eyes and subtly smiles.

“Hihi—, is it?”

The Professor resumes with her lectures, pointing her palm forward to the wooden targets installed in the room.

“Alright, Ma’am. Please concentrate on this demonstration right away.”

There appear the swirls of the wind that are visible around the Professor’s arm, rustling her hair as she elucidates matters to the Princess.

“This example includes the Occult Ability of the Elemental Faction. Specifically, the Wind Division.”

Then, the swirls of the wind shift to the shape of a vortex ball, becoming smaller than the Professor’s palm.

“Always remember this: the only time when you’re able to control the amount of Oen extraction is when you’re able to control your Ove to cap your Oen into the ratio that you desire, which is the Osyn.”

“In this case, I extract around 10 Oen and limit it by around 5 Ove to produce estimately 2 Osyn.”

And then, the Professor releases the windy ball and it pushes one wooden target a bit to the back, while Livet stays floating around, staring at the Princess.

“Ju—st like that! Are there any questions, Ma’am?”

The Princess lowers her eyebrows, replaying each one of her lessons from the previous class and recites after each one.

“Humans cannot directly produce any Osyn, but Chimerics do all of that work.”

“It’s like we borrow the power of the Chimerics to directly manipulate their Osyn for our uses.”

The Professor nods subtly while the Princess hypothesizes.

“Since humans do have Oen, but that alone won’t work per se. Does all of that mean humans are actually powerless unless we tame the Chimerics?”

“That’s correct!”

The Professor continues.

“Due to humans’ Oen is a vague, intangible element of unreality; it’s almost like a nonexistent thing we grow within the range of the Plane and the Amplitude developed by the Belief.”

“It’s similar to the inner frequency of our feelings, but it fluctuates by belief instead, and it certainly won’t ever drop below the point of the Plane.”

The Princess resumes to recap.

“While Chimerics’ Oen is real, they can’t control it unless they have a master of their own to manifest their Oen and convert to Osyn.”

The Professor replies, shaking her head.

“Don’t forget the importance of controlling Oen via the limitation of the Ove.”

“Mhm… And, of course, we need to perform the Assimilation to merge our Oen with the Chimerics’ Oen in order to make the Oen extractable into reality.”

The Princess reacts with a low tone.

“Ah—…”

Out of all thoughts, one stays, and she mumbles.

“… Occult… Value…”

The Princess suddenly shouts with faint shines in her eyes.

“So, how do we actually control our Occult Value?!”

“Haha—, using abbreviations is fine! Instead of saying Occult Value, saying Ove simplifies it and so on. Although explaining seems simple enough, we actually need to train a lot to get the grasp of our Occult Ability mastery.”

The Princess pouts.

“Well… that’s because the Queen Consort says the terms fully often.”

The Professor giggles, nods for a moment and then adds:

“It doesn’t end there though. Like I said in classes before: when there’s Oen, automatically, there’s Ove, because Oen comes from the Belief, and Ove exists because Oen exists.”

“If you were to recall the representation graph that I taught you, Oen operates against Ove, while the Belief generates the space between the Plane and the Amplitude on the Oen’s axis.”

“Alright, Ma’am. Now it’s your turn—”

An abrupt, earsplitting sound thumps and reverbs across the room. While several loud yells of men and uniform footsteps appear afterward.

“Go! Go! Go!”

“Strike in!”

The defense wall of the Training Room Section 1 disappears and the voices are shockingly coming from the breaching military men with a strange mix of guns and magical weapons ready to threaten those who dare to oppose.

“Hands up!”

The Princess instinctively plunges into fear, sitting on her calves as some sort of sharp object shoots at her spine.

“Huh—!?”

The Professor rushes toward the Princess, hugging her for protecting her. She raises her voice to resolve the confusion of the chaotic disruption of the class.

“What is this?! Answer me?!”

One of the men, who seems to be the leader of the military men, shouts his command.

“Procure the Princess at once!”

The intentions of the men drive the Professor to nervousness. And, her nervousness incurs her wrath, calling out Livet again.

“Livet!”

Livet immediately transforms from a cute animal into a larger and more hostile looking beast with flames running across its spine.

It has the same traits of animals, but way harsher: sharper, wider eyes; pointing, larger claws; longer fangs.

The Princess has passed out already, while the Professor’s fighting to protect her at her best while she’s cornered entirely, having nowhere to escape.

“Tsk—, don’t get near the Princess!”

“Surrender yourself! This is a decree from the Sovereign!”

The Professor’s pupil grows a tiny bit from small, doubting the words of the barging military men.

“The Sovereign—?”

The men approach the Princess’s body to take her, while Livet shrinks into nonexistence and the Professor starts to numb her arms that have been constantly holding the Princess.

As the men carry her, the Professor grieves in disorder for letting her go, falling onto her knees.

“Hhhh—…, huh? Your High…ness—?… Huh?”

“… I’m sorry…”

The figures on the coast tell her something that others don’t.

A soul from Earth, who has lost her life and past memories, wakes up trapped and transmigrated into the body of Raeké Issocelle Cazdae.

Raeké is a young, supercomplex princess, carrying the Royal blood of the Cazdae Empire and the Ivada Federation, though the soul merely carries that identity.

Those nations are two active, mega-nations; influential empires within their respective civilizations, rivaling one another in an exoplanet, Nulhym, during the nascent futuristic era.

Her dual birthright makes her the most contested prize in a cold war neither side intends to lose, Royals scheming and others’ wanting her erased entirely.

Her refusal to any agendas escalates the stakes of her survival in ways she can’t perceive and anticipate.

Now that learning about the world itself becomes a necessity rather than an option because it can outlast any empire.

As the world itself is vast, awaiting her odyssey and discovery, a realization clicks: it had long since lost its own balance power-wise.

However, the odyssey isn’t hers alone, but is shared with many of those who remain conscientious, forming an aligned goal, vowing to set off, discover, extrapolate and learn.

The deeper they go, the more they know how much of this world was deliberately buried to be unseen, forgotten and cornered to extinction.
