Frightened, I looked around to see if the girl was here, haunting my very existence. “I’m right here.” The voice said. “On your right.”
Turning to my right, I saw the top of someone’s head. I could see their scalp with their black hair coming out from it. Lowering my head, I saw a girl who seemed to be 7 inches shorter than me.
“Woah” I said surprised.
Seeing a girl this short while only being about 5'4 amazed me. I know girls who are very short existed, but seeing one in person made me realize how much the difference is.
She gave me an awkward gaze, thinking whether to repeat her question again or wait for me to tell her my answer.
“I’m sorry, I was caught off guard. What did you ask me again?” I asked her with pity.
She gave me a helpless look, before exhaling her frustration away.
“I said, do you need help? You seem to be having trouble entering the classroom.”
Her offering me help made me optimistic. I thought about telling her the problem I was having, in hopes of her helping me to enter the classroom without worrying. But after thinking about how stupid my problem was, I thought she would just clown me for struggling with something so simple.
“Oh it’s nothing. I was actually just stalling time for the next class. You know how boring Spanish class could be.” I said, hearing the unsureness of my own voice.
Her eyes weren’t convinced. She stared at my horrible poker face with a blank expression.
“If you say so.” she said.
Walking around me, she kept having a blank expression. Which made me wonder why she had one in the first place. As she approached the door of my classroom, it clicked me.
“Wait, you're in my class!?” I shouted.
Seeing her frightened by my tone, she looked around the hallways, making sure nobody was around. She then came up close to me and tilted her head up.
“Keep it down!” She said in an angry suppressed voice. “Yes I’m in your class. So what?”
She’s very tiny. Being so close to me, I could see her head reaching about my shoulders. She also wore rectangular brown glasses, which kinda seemed huge on her face.
“I’m sorry, it’s just I haven’t noticed you before.”
She gave me a weird look before telling me, “What do you mean you haven’t noticed me before? Is that an insult?”
Oh no, this is bad.
“No no, of course not. It’s just that in class I can’t focus on the lesson very much. So I just look around to memorize everyone in the class. And out of all the people I memorized, I haven’t memorized you.” I said, hoping she’ll calm down.
Squinting her eyes at me, I became surprised why she was so calm while talking with me this close.
“Hmm, you better watch how you word your sentences.” She told me.
Stepping back, she studied my face.
“What are you doing?” I asked with curiosity.
She kept scanning my face for a few seconds before saying,” nothing much. Just reading your personality.”
I gave her an odd look on my face.
What? Reading my personality? I thought before thinking how I should word my next sentence.
“Are you okay? Like not in a mean way. I just haven’t heard anyone who could read personalities by just looking at someone.” I told her.
“Tsk, I wouldn’t expect you to know. Since you're just the same as everyone else.” she told me.
“Uhhh”
Not knowing what to say, I decided to change the topic entirely.
“I think it’s time we should get to class,” I said.
“Hmph.” She let out.
She walked towards the classroom door with her right hand on the doorknob, still facing me.
“Alright. Lead the way then.” she told me with a hidden grin.
Ohhh you little bit-
Of course I wasn’t going to let that cross my mind, but she was making me very tempted to think about it.
“Uhm, why don’t you?” I asked. “Your hand is already there.”
“What? Don’t tell me you're scared?” She asked with a childish tone.
Come on. First you ask me if I need help and now you're making fun of me?
I thought of saying something way cooler than her insult. But when nothing came to mind, I decided to just let it go.
“Fine you win. I won’t make a big deal out of this.” I told her.
“That’s what I—wait what?”
With a startled look, she backed away from the classroom door. She made a face of wanting to say something, but before she could say anything else I told her,” I’m sorry if I upset you. It wasn’t my intention to call you short. I hope I didn’t hurt your feelings.” I told her.
Hehe, if you can’t hurt them, then kill em with kindness, I thought with a grin.
But seeing her reaction from my apology, she seemed almost embarrassed. Her face glowed pink with her hazel pupils filled with all types of emotions.
“I’m sorry! Did I say something wrong?” I said anxiously.
Ah shit, I think I insulted her again.
“What is wrong with you?” She asked. “I just made fun of you and your reaction is that?”
She looked away from me. And I started to wonder why she was mad at me for forgiving her? I mean, I was definitely made fun of by worse people, and being made fun of is a terrible feeling. But why fight back with more insults?
I did have the urge to say an insult like “you're the same size of a gnome” or “I bet you use a ladder for everything” but I don’t even know this girl. And she doesn’t know me. So why should I be insulting her? To make her feel bad? To make myself enemies? To make myself feel better? It is tempting to try and get her back for insulting me. But I won’t gain anything out of it. I know that for sure.
“I hope we can be friends.” I said.
My heart is pumping out of my fucking chest, please say something! Anything!
After what seemed to be an hour, she turned back around and looked straight at my chest.
“Look at me.” She commanded.
“I…am?” I questioned myself.
I was looking down to her, seeing her face and eyes looking straight at my heart.
Does she want to take my heart out and crush it?
“No, look at me face to face.” she said, this time with her eyes closed.
“What?”
I genuinely didn’t know what she was asking. She was about 3 feet away from me and asked me to look at her face to face.
“Sooo…you want me to look at you with the same eye level?” I asked.
Her body language became more impatient, with her face looking more irritated at the second.
Does she really want me to do this?, I thought as I sighed and placed my backpack down to the floor.
Walking up to her, I kept thinking if she meant something else than what I was actually planning on doing. I didn’t want to ask her, since her vein looked like it would burst if I did. So as I stood in front of her, I took a deep breath in, to calm my heart rate down.
Can’t believe I’m doing this.
“Ready?” I said, knowing I won’t get an answer back.
I started squatting down while looking straight at her, to see where our eyes would meet. Once I was about her eye level, I started to wrap my arms around her lower bust, without touching her yet.
“Here we go.” I said.
I think what made her open her eyes were two things. The first was being so close to her, since she probably didn’t expect me to be about an inch away from her face. The second was saying “here we go”, since all she wanted me to do was crouch down to her eye level. But, who would’ve known? Am I right…?
As she opened her eyes, I closed my arms together to her body, to have a better grip on her.
“Hmph~” she let out.
Hearing her groan like that made my ears tingled, but giving up now in this position would be worse.
“Hey! What are you—doing~” she said, putting her arms on my chest to push me away.
As I felt the back of her thighs, I grabbed my right wrist with my left hand and made sure to tighten it. When the grip felt secured, I lifted her up slowly towards my eye level.
Completely off the ground, she couldn’t look anywhere but my idiotic face and smile. Her eyes were in shambles as well as her body. My eyes were locked in with hers for 5 seconds.
What the actually fuck am I doing!
At this point, I didn’t know what to do or think. It was now clear to me that she didn’t want any of this. But since she was already in the air with my hands centimeters from touching her bust, my body decided to just freeze in place.
“Uhh, so? I…do you? uhm. Do you f-forgive me?”
Her face was bright red with her eyes shaking from the fact I picked her up. Her mouth opened, but she couldn’t make any words or phrases, just natural, startled noise.
“Creaakkkk”
Hearing the classroom door open, my heart dropped as my eyes widened from the fear of being noticed.
For me at least I wouldn’t care if I got in trouble, since I was holding such a pretty girl in my hands. I was more worried about the girl I was carrying right this second. I didn’t want her to be assumed as a “girl with no boundaries” since she was in my arms in front of a classroom. I didn’t want to bring anything bad upon her. She didn’t seem like the kind of girl who would insult me without any reason. And believing in that, I didn’t want to cause any embarrassment. So when the doors opened I quickly walked away from the door while placing her down besides the wall, covering her.
"Hey! Are you the one making all that noise?" My teacher yelled at me.
With my back towards my teacher, I purposely made my body big to cover the girl who looked at me weirdly. She seemed to want to punch me or slap me.
"I'm sorry teach, I just needed to make a quick phone call." I said.
Still frozen in place, I nudged the girl to start scooting away near the wall to escape from being seen. Rightfully so, she gave me a pissed off look while pushing me away. Seeing her in this state, It would take a miracle to get her to listen to me and move away.
Shit. If she keeps pushing me, the teacher is going to see the both of us.
"You're not supposed to have your phone out during school hours. Hang up your phone now and come to class."
Many thoughts came to mind to try and solve this situation. Thoughts from, should I tell my teach I'm currently having a boner? To, Should I slowly scoot away with both hands on my ass while saying I'm having diarrhea?
But with all these thoughts crossing my mind, I couldn't figure out the right one. And seeing this girl, who was so obviously frustrated at me, it made it harder to figure out which thought of mine will fix this situation. Therefore, I did the unthinkable.
"I love you, bye" I said, looking directly at her.
