"Ohhhh, hey. Nice seeing you here huh?" I jokingly said.
Tilting my head down, I could see her attitude and eyes still pissed off from before.
Oh she still hasn’t cooled down. Should I say something first? Or wait for her to say something? I’ll just ask her. But what if she tells me to shut up? There’s a lot of students walking around. Damn she’s short. Was she really this short? Shit, focus Miles. I’ll just ask her if she wants to say something first, yeah let’s go with that.
“Uhm, did you want to say something first?” I said, instantly regretting it.
Frick that came out way too rude. And she looks even more pissed. What should I say in a situation like this?
“Yes I do.” she says, grabbing my wrist and taking me to the staircase.
“Wait wait! Are you still pissed off at me?”
She didn’t respond and kept marching with a tight grip on my wrist.
She’s totally mad at me.
As we made our way to the staircase, the bell rang again, indicating the start of second period.
The staircase had nobody inside, it was quiet with a dark eerie atmosphere.
she stopped and listened for a noise before saying, “what did you pick me up? you pervert.” She said coming close to my face.
I’ve been called many names before. And I can't deny that most of the names I've been called didn’t match me perfectly. What names, you ask? Names like fatty, big chungus, chud, fag, watermelon, or even diabetes. But the one thing I can't be called is a pervert.
If you're going to accuse me of something, do it right!
“I was just trying to do what you were asking!” I fought back. “I didn’t know you wanted me to kneel down.”
She made a fist with her left hand, while giving me a death stare.
She’s gonna swing if I don't calm her down.
"So the second best thing to do is wrap your hands around my ass?" she ferociously asked me.
I had no words to fight that question back. She was perfectly in the right to be upset with me for carrying her with minimal effort.
With a worried face, I said " You're right. That was stupid of me. I'm sorry for touching you like that."
She wouldn't understand. I mean, who would? If I saw a guy picking up a random girl from below her butt, I would call him a pervert too. But I panicked, and it's something that many people don't understand.
Why am I a useless introvert?
"What can I do to make it up to you?" I asked her.
Finally giving an expression other than anger, she stepped back while scanning my face once again.
"Do you really think giving me a favor will make me forgive you?" she said.
I made a nervous face before saying, "No. But if there's something I can do, then I'll be more than happy to help you. As an apology."
Her face looked interested at my offer. She started touching her chin with her fingers with her eyes still stabbing at me.
"What will you do?" she asked.
I looked at her with a tense look, already having a bad feeling of what I was about to say.
"I'll help you with anything humanly possible."
Her mouth widened to a big smile. Seeing it made my body shiver, since a smile from any girl can't be of any good.
"Alright. From this moment forward, you are to fulfill any request I may have!" She said.
I didn't have much of a choice. My mind couldn't think of any else but to offer myself as a servant. Though, it was better than getting whacked by a short tempered girl with brown glasses. Or was it?
I'm already regretting my decision, I thought when she started grinning in such a terrifying way.
"I'm going to class." I said.
Turning to the exit door, she said "WAIT! I didn't say you could leave yet."
Oh no. Don't tell me she's THAT type of girl.
"Do you need me to do something already?" I asked her.
"No. I wanted to ask you for your name. Since you're basically going to do things for me, I should at least use your name to call you around." She said awfully calmly.
"Oh right, That slipped my mind. My name is Miles, and I'm a freshman. Nice to meet you and sorry again."
"Oh uhm, nice to meet you. M-My name is—wait. WHY AM I GETTING NERVOUS?" She screams.
Wait a damn minute.
"Do you also get nervous talking to other people?" I asked in a surprised voice.
"No I don't! I just forgot what my name was for a second. Yeah! That's all." She says, looking everywhere but me.
"You don't sound convincing."
"You shouldn't be talking! Weren't you nervous about going inside that class before?"
"YOU KNEW?"
"Of course I knew! I stood behind you for 5 minutes thinking the teacher wasn't in the classroom yet."
"Ohhh, was that why you were mad before?"
"What? No, I wasn't mad before."
Huh, I could've sworn she was making fun of me before.
"So why did you sound annoyed at me?"
"I wasn't. That's how I talk to every boy."
"Ohh, really?"
"YES REALLY." she yelled before adjusting her glasses. "All boys are just weird and gross. The only thing they enjoy is either pervertly watching us or having perverted thoughts of us. So why should I treat you with respect if your mind only thinks of grabbing my ass?"
"Touche" I say before bowing my whole upper body down to her.
"I'm sorry once again. Please make sure to give me any request suitable for my punishment."
I couldn't see her at all at this moment, but I could feel her happy face and creepy eyes staring at me.
"I know, so you can stop bowing."
I came back up while giving her a smile.
"I'll see you during math class." I told her while walking towards the exit.
"Alright, see you later—Wait. I thought you didn't remember me!"
"In Spanish class no, In math class yes. It's kind of hard to miss you when you're sitting right across from me." I told her as I made my way through the doors.
As she opened her mouth to respond, her voice died out from hearing keys jingling from the top floor.
"Go go go." she said, running quietly in my direction.
Once she came through the door, I ran to the left hallway while she went to the right one.
"Hey, Miles?" she said, still running through her hallway.
I stopped, just before running through my hallway.
"What?"
She turns around in an energetic way before saying, "You better not skip math class!"
Chuckling, I gave her a thumbs up, in which she grinned and started running again.
Now I wish I hadn't told her, I thought, realizing math class is now going to be more than math.
I started walking through the hallway with more of a calmness than before. After finally confronting and apologizing to her, the embarrassment is still there. But the feeling has eased up, knowing that she wasn't affected by it as much as I was.
I guess she didn't mind me telling her that I love her.
