[BL] Omegaverse: Late Bloomer

10. Date

10. Date

Aug 21, 2026

Yan couldn't sleep. At four in the morning, he spotted a demon humming to himself. He tried covering his ears, but it was useless.

"Tera! You're so damn loud at this hour! Go to sleep!" Yan complained, looking at Tera, who was wearing a face mask and playing with his phone. He was karaokeing while reading the lyrics from his screen.

"No! It's Saturday. There's no school today, so you can sleep in. Tomorrow's a holiday too. Sleep as much as you want," Tera argued.

Yan could see the other residents in their dorm covering their ears, but nobody dared to tell Tera to shut up. They were all too afraid of getting thrown around.

"Where are you going?" Yan asked curiously.

"On a date."

"What lunatic goes on a date this early in the morning?"

"This lunatic."

Tera narrowed his eyes and pointed at himself.

"Then I'm coming with you."

Yan immediately started getting ready.

"What do you think looks better on me?" Yan asked, holding up two outfits.

Tera's mouth dropped open.

****

"Come on, sheep. You're not allowed to go anywhere alone when it comes to romance."

Yan tugged on the ribbon tied around Tera's wrist. Tera rolled his eyes, clearly annoyed by the interference.

"You're such a busybody!" Tera grumbled.

Gama was already waiting by the dorm entrance, wearing a black long-sleeved shirt and a cap. On holidays, they were allowed to leave and enter the dorm freely, as long as they returned by six in the evening.

"Let's—wait, who's this?!" Gama pointed at Yan.

"He's a demon," Tera answered without thinking.

Gama immediately tried to chase Yan away, but Yan refused to leave. He pulled Tera into his arms and hid Tera's head against his chest.

"I have to protect him from a Grizzly Bear. If I'm not allowed to come, Tera isn't going anywhere either. Even if he throws me around."

Gama's expression darkened. He immediately pulled out his phone and called his roommate, his eyes practically saying, Just wait and see.

"Sky, I'm going on a date with the fox if you don't come here! I'm at the gate right now."

Gama grinned at Yan.

'You better not.'

"Why did you call Sky?!" Yan stomped one foot.

Not long after, Sky came running toward them and immediately pulled Yan away.

"Come with us. We'll make it a double date."

Sky froze.

"Huh?!"

Yan pushed against Sky's arms.

"Dih."

Tera gave them a judgmental look.

"Fine. You're pretty clever. You knew I wouldn't come if Sky was here, but do you think I'm giving up? No! I'm still coming to protect my sheep."

"I'll treat you for three months," Sky said, patting Gama on the back gratefully.

Gama gave him a thumbs-up and then tapped his own nose with a smug grin.

"I know, I know. I'm pretty smart."

****

Gama wore a black T-shirt, a cream-colored cap, and cargo pants that matched his cap.

Yan wore a white tank top underneath a striped button-up shirt and a pair of jeans. He didn't bother buttoning the shirt at all.

Sky was wearing nothing but the T-shirt he normally slept in and a pair of short cargo pants. How was he supposed to know they were going on a date?

Tera wore an olive-green bomber jacket and shorts. He'd only brought a few clothes with him anyway.

"So where are we going?" Yan asked suspiciously.

The two idiots had just been wandering around and buying drinks. Nothing unusual was happening.

They didn't even have a destination.

"Don't tell me you two don't even know what a date is?!" Yan asked.

"Uh... walking around together in the morning, right? Jogging?" Gama answered.

Yan suddenly understood why Gama had dressed like that.

"A date is buying food," Tera said while sipping his drink.

Yan was starting to get irritated. He immediately grabbed both of them by the ears and made them sit down.

"These two still need to be taught. Beginners," Sky muttered.

"First, you need a destination. Then you need to actually spend time together," Yan explained. He pulled out his wallet.

"I'll let you two go. Walk around together. Go sightseeing or something."

He handed Gama some money, then tied the ribbon around Tera's wrist to Gama's.

Yan shooed them away before following from behind. There were probably two possibilities.

One: They were both too shy and actually knew what they were doing.

Two: This was their first time trying to get closer, and they genuinely had no idea what they were doing.

Sure enough, the moment they were alone, Gama walked up behind Tera and wrapped his arms around him.

Tera was startled and nearly twisted Gama's arm hard enough to break it.

"Haha..."

Gama laughed awkwardly and swallowed nervously.

His Omega was terrifying.

Gama wanted to hold Tera's hand, but he couldn't. Tera had already developed a habit of smacking his hand away whenever he tried.

As they walked together, Gama became increasingly awkward. Neither of them said much.

He just wanted to touch Tera.

'I wanna hug him, but I'm afraid he'll hit me.'

Gama squeezed his eyes shut.

"What are those two doing?! Why did they suddenly become so stiff?! This is like a chamois cloth that's been left out under the scorching sun! Completely stiff!"

Yan peeked through the bushes.

"I thought they'd be getting up to all kinds of indecent stuff.”

Suddenly, when Gama closed his eyes for a moment, Tera disappeared.

Gama looked down.

The ribbon that had been tied between them was now attached only to him.

"Tera?"

"Tera!!"

"Tera!"

He panicked and started searching for him. He tried following Tera's scent. He could still recognize that chamomile scent. The smell of Tera's body was still lingering around the area.

"Where is he? Where did he go? Where's my sheep?!"

Yan started to step out of his hiding spot, but Sky stopped him.

"Why?" Yan asked curiously.

Sky said nothing. He simply motioned for Yan to keep watching.

Behind Gama, Tera slowly approached while carrying a bucket filled with white, red, and purple carnations.

With a mischievous smile, he placed the flowers on the ground before rising onto his tiptoes and covering Gama's eyes from behind.

"Who's there?!" Gama shouted in panic as he quickly turned around.

The moment he turned—

Whack!

The flower bucket smacked him right in the face.

Tera immediately wrapped his arms around him.

"Thank you for being my Alpha... and for being patient with me," Tera said shyly.

He took Gama's hand, placed their palms together, and intertwined their fingers.

They were finally holding hands.

Tera's hand was so small. Gama never thought he'd actually get to hold it like this.

"Feels like a jengkol."

"Ouch."

The moment he said it, Tera stomped on his foot.

"So you did that on purpose. Then I can kiss—"

Gama leaned down to kiss Tera's forehead, but Tera flicked him on the lips first.

"No!"

Tera cupped Gama's cheeks and rose onto his tiptoes.

Gama laughed, immediately understanding what Tera wanted, and lowered himself.

"You're pretty clever."

Tera gave him a small kiss on the forehead.

Gama's face turned bright red. He lowered his head for a long moment, touching the spot where Tera had kissed him.

From a distance, Yan was speechless.

"Well, it's pretty obvious who's winning here."

He anxiously bit his nails.

"Apparently, his love language is physical attacks. That Alpha is going to get beaten up every single day. Once they're married, I bet he'll end up in the hospital three times a day."

Sky shuddered.

Yan glanced at him.

"Am I better than him?"

"Of course. You're an angel."

Sky winked at him.

His late manifestation changes everything. Suddenly, Tera has to deal with an identity he never expected, uncontrollable instincts, and an Alpha who seems far too interested in him.

Gama was never supposed to be part of Tera's new life.

But the more Tera tries to adjust to being an Omega, the harder it becomes to keep Gama at a safe distance.

Some people bloom early.
