Western Gull (Larus occidentalis)

One more of the BFG group (big frickin' gulls) that we have on the North American west coast. These ones typically have wingspans in the 50-ish inch ballpark and are typically just over two pounds. They take four years to reach adulthood and will live on average 15 years and up to 25 years. Like all the BFGs they will eat whatever seems like it's good for eating. They will even steal milk from an elephant seal* (along with several other birds and even cats). Really, gulls? Must you? Gulls gonna gull, I guess.

Ohhhhh… I can hear his squawking all the way to the north coast of Ohio! We have them too, but not as big! 😅
