Eunji was slightly fidgeting in her chair due to her being across from Luna and Starlight was whimpering in Eunji’s ear, trying to urge them to go hide in their den with Lucy. Eunji glanced at Lucy, who was badly vibrating and Eunji reached to take her hand, which stopped Lucy from vibrating.

“So Keith had sticky fingers as well.” Juno said and Eunji was so thankful that Luna’s full focus was on Rose as she was reporting what they found. “And the theory is he was pulled out because he made a lousy spy.”

“Yes, on another note, Eunji performed her first fire magic.” Rose's tone shifted from a professional to a proud older sister. “It happened when she found some stolen panties that were once hers.”

Eunji froze up once all the eyes in the dining room looked towards her and she almost stopped breathing when Luna’s cold cyan eyes locked on her. She only started breathing again when Alina waved her hand in front of Luna’s face and Luna looked towards Alina.

“Tap down with the Uberwolf aura, Lubimaya.” Alina said as Luna’s cold sharp eyes focused on her wife. “We don’t want to see you pin down our golden retriever pup that is just protecting her mate.” 

On hearing Alina’s words, Eunji looked to Lucy and saw she had shifted her ears into semi lycan, eyes glowing, and muttonchops to match her ears. Eunji gave Lucy’s hand a squeeze and Lucy looked to her, “I’m okay, physically I’m alright.” Eunji whispered and Lucy let out a big sigh, which caused her shift back to normal.

“It’s my fault,” Juno said and all eyes returned to her. “When two powerful pack leaders are in the same room there tends to be tension.”

“It shouldn’t be a problem if Luna was allowed into the pack.” Rose muttered under her breath but with everyone having sharp hearing, everyone heard it clearly. Juno looked at Rose with a sympathetic look and Rose just glanced away.

“Why can’t Luna join this pack?” Eunji asked without even thinking about it. “Or is it one of those lycan political moments that makes one’s head spin.”

“Two main reasons, the first is territory.” Juno explained as she tapped her finger on the table, Eunji was starting to think that was Juno’s nervous tick. “If Luna joins our pack, her land becomes the pack territory and that is too much territory that causes uproar within the other packs.”

“The second reason would be a leadership fight.” Luna finally spoke up and Eunji found her voice rough and earth rumbling deep. The roughness could be from the scarring Eunji finally noticed on Luna’s throat and it looked to be deep claw scarring. “My wolf would demand a fight as she does not trust old world wolves as leaders.”

Eunji felt the tension rise up and that Luna wanted to add on ‘So do I.’ but Alina put hand on Luna's tense shoulder, making her shoulder slightly relax. Luna turned to look at her and nuzzled the top of Alina’s messy nest of scarlet red hair. Eunji felt Lucy move closer and mirrored Luna by nuzzling the top of Eunji’s head.

In the corner of her eye she could see Rose’s cheeks slightly puffed up in pout but it clearly was not from the lovely dovey affectation being thrown around, as she does with Maria all the time. “Why are you all pou-”

“She just wants her cousin to join our pack because she’s family and basically a pack member due to being married to me.” Alina interrupted Eunji and Eunji took a pause then remembered that Rose did mention her mother being Native American. That thought led to remembering that lycans normally couldn’t have children, but Adlet and First could.

“We are getting off topic.” Luna finally said and Eunji felt that sharp and cold gaze lock on her again. “The little fox used fire magic.”

Juno stood up and placed her hand flat on the table, “Yes, she did. I think it's time for magic lessons.” Juno looked at Luna. “Will you join us?”

Luna stayed quiet for a few seconds before shaking her head, "Maybe when she is more confident with her magic.” Luna said as she stood up and it felt like dwarfed almost everyone in the room. “I will wait for you in the truck.” Alina nodded and Luna left the room.

Once Luna was out of the room the tension lifted and Eunji noticed she had been holding her breath once again. “I better not let her wait too long.” Alina stood up and gave Juno a small nod. “Call me if anything important happens on this mysterious pack and I’ll tell Luna.”

Juno nodded to Alina and she left to catch up with Luna while Juno waved us to go the opposite direction. “To the underground hunting grounds.” She chimed happily and everyone followed her command with her following close behind. 

Once down in the underground hunting ground Juno whispered something to Rose and Rose turned to Lucy. “Alright, you're with me goldie,” Rose teased as started to take off her bracelets. “We’ll just be in the way. So wolf up.”

Lucy flatten her lips but Eunji gently nudges Lucy with her shoulder, “Go, explore.” Eunji whispered with a smile. “Also I wouldn’t mind seeing your wolf form.”

Lucy perked up with that and didn’t question Rose as she led her to some hidden lockers by the elevator. Rose and Lucy put the clothing and jewelry in the lockers and before Eunji’s eyes she watched the two transform. It was different compared to Maria’s slow transformation, it was less than a minute before both were fully transformed into their full moon forms.

“Intersting, Lucy must mental aline with her wolf for that quick of transformation.” Juno muttered and Eunji didn't stop staring at Lucy’s beast’s form. It was the same size and Belgian Sheepdog shape as Maria, maybe a few inches better, but her fur was the same blonde hair as human form. She had white under belly and the tip of her tail was white as well, as if someone dipped it in white paint.

Lucy slowly trotted up to Eunji and raised her snout and one pawed up in pride. Eunji couldn’t help herself as she giggled and rubbed Lucy soft fur on her neck, “Yes, you are very beautiful.” She said, which caused Lucy to make a happy whining noise and prancing in one spot.

Rose walked over to Lucy and gave her a small nip on the ear, only to get her attention. Eunji noticed the size difference between Rose and Lucy, which was foot taller at the shoulders. Rose made small huff before pointing her snout to the woods and trotting into the woods with Lucy following like a golden retriever.

“Is Luna as bi-”

“Luna is bigger but you shouldn’t use her as a measuring stick for the average adlet or any lycan in general.” Juno said and Eunji raised a brow. “Rose is a better measurement for an average Adlet, even though she is a hybrid breed. A normal pure breed Adlet gets the size of a shire horse but similar strength as Rose.”

“I see.” Eunji said as started into the forest and flexed her hand. ‘No, I don’t want to transform.’ Starlight hissed and Eunji just flatten her lips but stopped when Juno tilted her head at Eunji. Eunji tapped her temple, “Starlight still refuses to let me transform into full moon form, I think as punishment for how I locked her up in chains.”

“That oddly makes sense due to the fact that the kumiho breed are known for being petty.” Juno said before waving her hand. “But that changes once the full moon rises and right now it is magic lesson time.”

“Will I be able to use magic without Starlight’s help?” Eunji asked and waited for Starlight to gekker at her but nothing happened.

“The use of magic does not need Starlight’s help but if you are both in agreement, it will make the magic stronger.” Juno explained and held out her hand, palm up, and a small fire formed in it. “Of note the only breeds that can use magic without ritual are The First, kumiho, and kitsune.”

“Ritual?” Eunji asked before it clicked her mind. “Old magic, that is ritual magic, isn’t it?”

Juno smiled, “Yes and anyone lycan can use it due to all lycans having spark of magic in them,” Juno explained as closed her hand to put out the fire she summoned. “This spark allows them to transform but not perform magic like the three breeds I mentioned before.”

“So why do the three breeds perform magic, while the others can’t?” Eunji asked and she shifted herself to mirror Juno’s posture with hand raised up with palm up. She focused her gaze on her own palm and tried to remember the feeling she used before.

“The theory that is greatly accepted is that those three breeds are deeply connected to the earth’s will, mana, life force, or ley lines. I prefer using the ‘ley lines’ term myself.” Juno said as she watched Eunji before a flame formed in Eunji’s hand. Eunji smiled at being able to produce the small flame and Juno nodded to her. “While you do have access to all the elements, the kumiho line was always best known for fire and illusion magic.”

“Illusion magic? Was the silence spell I used before, that was a type of illusion magic or something different?” Eunji rolled the flame in her hand and it felt so natural in her hand, as if it was an old friend. “It feels warm…”

“Yes, it was a type of illusion magic.” Juno happily watches Eunji play with the fire. “I think we will focus on fire and illusion magic until you master it, as you have a long life time to learn the others.”

Eunji perked up as she just remembered that she was functionally immortal now and had a lot of time to master any new skill. She put her hands together to put out the flames and it didn’t burn her when she did it. “Guessing fire not made by me can still hurt me.” Eunji said.

“That is right but with enough practice, when you can master control over fire, it will no longer be a threat to you.” Juno paused as touched her burnt shoulder. “Also long you don’t face someone with stronger will over fire.”

Eunji bit back her question about Juno’s missing arm and before she could move the conversation along, Lucy burst through the forest. She was dragging a deer's body by its neck and wagging her tail as she dropped it at Eunji’s feet. “Thank you?” Eunji could only muster up from the action.
