The rest of them happily bantered, cooing at Iris and flocking onto her as she unhappily groaned under the weight of all of them. The chatter stopped when the dressing room door clicked open.
“Iris.” Adrien stood at the door. “Get ready, client in 20.” He looked at the rest. “Shouldn’t you all be getting dressed? Club opens in half an hour. Chop chop!”
They all sighed, getting off Iris and slinking off to go get themselves ready. Iris got up, walking to the rack to get the rest of their outfit on, before a paw grabbed their forearm. They looked back at the paw that tugged them. “What?” She sighed, looking at Adrien.
“Fix your face,” Adrien growled. “I’m sick of you walking around like that, it’s unseemly for the guests.”
Iris stared at him and then put on a grin. “Anything else, master?” She mocked.
Adrien growled louder, and Iris pulled her arm away. “I have to get ready for my client, don’t I? So, let me do that.” She walked off, her tail lashing at Adrien.
He scowled, leaving the room.
“He must be in a bad mood tonight,” Misty frowned, her ears lowering.
“He’s always in a bad mood,” Iris said, shuffling through the rack. “Part of his pre-shift ‘charm’.”
-
Iris tied her hair up in a ponytail and put the hair comb into the front. She adjusted her top and left the dressing room to go down the hall. They came through to the lobby as security started to unlock the doors for the night. She walked up to the front desk and leaned over it.
“Who’s it tonight, Clair Bear?” Iris hummed, resting her head on her palm.
“You’re not gonna like it…” Clair sighed, flipping through her magazine. “I told Houston to tell you,” She pointed over at him.
Houston looked up from the desk where he was sorting through his notes. “I never agreed to that.” He sighed.
“Just tell me…” Iris frowned.
“It’s Mr. Allen.” Houston’s face scrunched. Clair gestured with a gag.
“Ugh. Of course.” Iris hissed, laying her head in her arms.
“I hate that guy,” Clair cinged. “He gives me the creeps, seriously. You remember when he told Fay that he knew she didn’t give him the right number when she gave him a fake one? And then called it in front of her and asked her to correct her number?”
“Ugh, and that time he remarked about how he liked Misty being ‘barely legal’ or some shit.” Houston whinced at the thought.
“Or that time when he-”
“Wow, thank you, guys. You’re making my night here.” Iris bemoans. “You don’t have to sleep with him.” They squinted.
“Sorry, hun.” Clair frowned, matching Iris’ expression. “You know what to do if he gets to be too much, though. I’ll keep Houston on speed dial.”
“I’ll break down that door faster than the bastard can put on a condom.” Houston nodded.
“Don’t break it, you know it’ll come out of your paycheck.” Clair sighed. “And having to order a new door is so much work.”
The two squabbled with one another, and Iris just sighed. The doorbell rang as the double doors were opened and in stepped the man of the hour. Mr. Allen was a large kangaroo, fluffy all over, with tired eyes and an aloof presence. And while he looked like he was a stuffy type, he was quite the opposite, and not in the nice kind of way. Mr. Allen was a clingy, rowdy man who often got drunk off his ass and made it everyone else’s problem. The biggest reason he was still a member was because of Adrien and Jax’s relationship with him. In the early days of Crimson Red, Mr. Allen invested a large portion of money during what looked like it would be the breaking point for the club and got the place a lot of new customers through connections. Essentially, he revived it. So, he was a VIP for life in Jax and Adrien’s eyes. A very lovely deal for him and them, but not so much for the other staff who had to deal with the man. He creeped out nearly everyone and most just evaded him.
“Iris, my love!” Mr. Allen bellowed, outstretched arms coming right for Iris. Iris cringed as Mr. Allen bombarded her with a hug and twirled her around.
“Lovely to see you again, my dear. How’ve you been?” He grins down at Iris.
Iris changed demeanors as soon as Mr. Allen’s face met hers, beaming happily with a smile on her face. “I’m doing quite well, Mr. Allen. It’s lovely to see you again.”
