If this is Life's nightmare, it's interesting to see how his subconscious views himself as weaker than Death. It's no wonder after the mysterious events that seem to erase Life's memory of the time they shared together, that if this is the only thing he associates Death with - that he views him as creepy and cold.
I can only hope dying in the dream is so painful or shocking that it wakes him up from it in reality :/ This is awful...
