Some people wanted Life to suffer more as payback for being a "jerk" to Death so here you GO your wishes have come true.

It's interesting how both Life and Death experience the death of a creature. To Death, he is peacefully reliving the animal of its pain, and letting the soul butterfly float gently away. He experiences the passing of the soul more than the death of its body. But Life, Life feels the creature die, hears it screaming in pain. Don't forget that he created these creatures, making them essentially his children. No wonder Life had so much trouble with Death's job---every time he witnesses it he is is forced to live through the vivid death of one of his children.
And to those of you who wanted him to suffer, shame on you.
