This is reminding me heavily of this other comic that was advertised on Homestuck a lot, but for the life of me I can't find it again... guy and younger sister go to birthday party with a very similar cast of characters where they use a Book of Questionably Valid Source in order to summon the devil. If this truly is a higher quality reboot, then what happens next is they all put their phones in as sacrifices and an actual demon comes in to take 'em to (a very pretty-looking and comparatively pleasant) "hell" and drops them all off at various locations where they all attempt to find each other again while encountering different species of demons and various organizations.
