"Hello...? Hello?"

Her voice was hoarse, as if she had just been bawling her eyes out. Even though I knew it was best to ignore her, I couldn't help being curious.

"Answer, please...I only have two minutes on the phone. Please...just two minutes..."

She was begging and wailing, so I answered.

"It's me, Jayden," I huffed, trying to act bored and annoyed.

"Oh, Jayden...It's not that bad here, but, but, they say that after a month, they'll be sending me to adult jail. Jayden...why are they doing this to me? I didn't do anything...it was all Jessica. It's all her fault. I'm getting out of here Jayden. I'm escaping before they send me to jail. I'm doing it Jayden."

Before I was able to respond, she hung up, and left me carrying the weight of her words. Jessica's fault? She was taking this way too far.
