There was a man coming in my room. He was reading something off of his clipboard as he walked in. He walked a few feet into my room before stopping. He finally put his clipboard down and looked up at me. He gave a somewhat shocked expression. As he stared at me I took in a better look of him.
He looked a man in his fifties or so. He was bald with a white mustache that looked like it was a foot long all the way across his face. He had glasses on his eyes that looked to be two to three inches thick, and they seemed to be embedded into his face... The white coat he wore was buttoned to his waist and showed his black pants and matching shoes.
I wasn't sure why he was staring at me or even what he doing here. I was the first to break the silence between us to find answers to some questions of mine.
"Where am I? Who are you and why are you here?" I asked the man.
"Oh u-uh..." he stuttered.
I gave him a questioning look. He did not answer my questions and I began to get impatient. A few minutes passed and I gave the man a look of annoyance. Once he finally came back to reality he shook his head and cleared his throat.
"You are on the space colony ARK, my name is Professor Gerald Robotnik, and I am here because I was supposed to make sure nothing happened to you as you were stationary," Gerald said.
"How long was I 'stationary'?" I asked.
"You were stationary for almost two years... at most. We were beginning to think that you were not going to wake."
'Two years?! I was asleep for that long?! Wait... we? What did he mean by 'we'? Maybe he means that little girl I first saw... But this place it probably bigger so there wouldn't be more than two other people... Maybe there is more than just them... Question is, how many?' I thought.
"How many people do mean when you say 'we'?" I asked.
"Uh... A couple hundred?... I don't remember with everything that goes on, " Professor Gerald answered.
"What about the little girl?" I said unknowingly.
"Little girl? The only little girl on the ARK is my granddaughter Maria... How did you know about her?" Gerald said with what I guess, a suspicious look.
"I saw her before..." I replied with a raised eye ridge. Did he just get defensive?
"Oh... Okay? I guess since you're up and already dressed I'll show you around the ARK. Then I'll take you down to the lab for some testing. Afterwards, if we have time, I'll take you over to the training center to see if everything was created right." Gerald then turned around and walked out the door.
''Created right'? What's that supposed to mean? I'll ask the Professor later...' I thought. I then got up to follow the Professor out the door for my little 'tour' of this place. Then I started to think about what he said about the little girl, his 'granddaughter'...
'Maria... She sounds like she'd be a nice girl to meet...'
