Narrator's POV

It's been four years since Shadow has had his wacky dream. Even though it happened so long ago, Maria will still ask questions. She'll ask about the dream, if he's had it again, and stuff that has started to get on Shadows nerves...

Right now Maria is going through the halls looking for her younger brother because it's bath day for him. And he's hated baths ever since he had slipped and fell while taking a shower about a year ago...

Maria'a POV

I told Shadow he was going to get a bath last night by accident and now he has run off. I've been looking for him for about...six hours now? He went and hid somewhere during the night. With how big the ARK is and how stealthy Shadow can be...it could take me a while until I found him.

"Shadow! C'mon you need a bath!" I yelled out into the empty hallway.

I groaned in annoyance before going into one of the nearby rooms. it was one of the old labs that was never used anymore. I called Shadows name once more and didn't hear anything. I sigh in annoyance and turn to leave. I hear a small sneeze and stop in my tacks. I turn back to face the dark, dusty room and smirk. I found him...

Shadow's POV

Maria has been looking for me for hours now. I don't want a bath after the incident... I was terrified to get a shower after I had fallen that time... And Maria says I'll be fine! Huh, she'd be scared too if she fell and MADE A DENT ON THE SIDE OF THE TUB!!! I was lucky she got me and took me to the Professor before I bled to death! Even with my quick healing I could have died! Heck, I cracked my skull open and I'm still healing from that! I am NOT getting a bath even if it's the last thing I do!

"Shadow! C'mon you need a bath!"

'Crap! She's just down the hall!"

I hugged my legs tighter and made myself into probably the tightest ball ever. I heard the door open and footsteps walking in.

"Shadow!!" yelled Maria.

My nose started to tickle and I panicked. If I sneeze she'll find me. I hear her sigh and start to walk out. I couldn't hold it and sneezed before Maria could get out the room.

Crap...

I didn't hear the sound of the door closing or Maria's footsteps. She heard... I held my breath and hoped that she would brush it off and leave. I then heard the soft taps off her feet fade and the door closing. I sigh a breath of relief and start to come out of my ball of protection and crawled out from under the table I was hiding under and stood up. I hope she's gotten far from here...

I had taken not even ten steps from my hiding spot when I got picked up from behind. There's only one other person that could be in this room...

"Got ya!" said a girly voice.

Maria...

"NO!! LET ME GO!! I DON'T WANT A BATH!!" I yelled as I kicked my feet hoping I could get out my sisters grip.

"No!! You're getting a bath whether you like it or not!" she yelled back, tightening her grip on me.

"No! What if I drown this time?! I don't want a bath!"

"Shadow! I'll be right beside you if you pass out! You have nothing to worry about!"

"No!!"

Maria's POV

I grit my teeth as I held my brother. Every time he kicked or tried to pry my arms from him, I would tighten my grip. I gave an agitated groan and came up with an idea.

"If you don't get this bath, I'll have no choice but to get someone else to give you one!!"

Shadow instantly stilled. I smirked as I knew he didn't like it if others even laid a finger tip on one of his quills for any reason. He gave a defeated groan and relaxed in my grip. His ears went flat against his head submissively as he looked to the floor. I smirk triumphantly and set him down in the floor. I took his hand and we walked out the lab and back to our room.

45 minutes later

"Ow! Stop! That hurts!" Shadow yelled.

"It wouldn't hurt if you would stop squirming!" I yelled back.

A few minutes ago I was able to get Shadow into the tub, but when I put the shampoo in his quills, he freaked out. He was worried I was going to hurt his head injuries...

"Stop!"

"Shadow, that's enough! You will sit still so I can bathe you or else I'll get someone else in here!"

He stopped and looked at me with eyes that said that he hated me at this moment. He then huffed and sat still. I gave a small 'Thank you' before continuing. We both stayed silent for the next ten minutes as I gave Shadow the bath.

Once I was done, I pulled the drain plug on the tub and helped Shadow out. I gave him a towel to dry himself off with and I went back into our room to get Shadows night cloths.

The next morning

I was having a pleasant dream of me and Shadow down on Earth playing in a field. I was extremely content with my dream until I was jerked awake. I looked around the room and noticed that Shadow was sound asleep in his bed. I looked at the clock on my nightstand and it read '3:49'.

'Why did I wake up so early?' I thought.

I sit up in my bed and stretch my arms. I yawn as I do so, but stop mid-yawn with my mouth still open in a big 'O' and my arms still over my head.

'Something bad is going to happen... I feel it...' I thought as I close my mouth and bring my arms down.

I sat in my bed thinking about what could go wrong and looked around the room. Everything was normal. So what could go wrong? My eyes soon land on Shadow and I remember the dream he had four years ago. The one were he was on Earth with that other hedgehog... That was a future dream....

'But...why would Shadow have that?'

Just as that thought ran through my head, the alarms went off. The siren noise woke Shadow up and he looked at me in confusion and fear.

"What's going on?" he asked.

I stared in shock and horror and watched a red light light up our room. Red...

"There's an intruder on the ARK..."
