The Auxiliary | Chapter 6: The Escape, the LED monitor and the Bad News it Brought

Jun 15, 2017

Inside the van, Richie, sitting in the passenger seat, asked, "What the fuck was that? Those are definitely not your normal thieves."

Dee, while driving, said. "Maybe something was in the bag? Rich, open it."

"Hell no! I'm not going to open that fucking thing! I want plausible deniability. Abel, you open it." Richie told Abel.

"What if it something bad is in it? I don't want to". begged Abel.

"Oh, don't be babies". Dee said.

"How do we even know that the wines are safe? We should have just let them have it" Said Abel regretting his decision to run towards the two thieves.

It's true normal people would have let the thieves go but not them. It was the false superiority of being a One Percenter that made them run and fight the thief. How could they have guessed that the thieves are also powered beings?

"Is the bag wet?" Dee asked.

"No" answered Abel.

"Then the wines are safe. We have to open the bag to get them. If we find something bad we can just throw it away and keep the wine." Dee said.

"See that Abel? Don't be a baby and open it." Richie smiled as he forced Abel to open the bag.

"What? But...but..." Abel wanted to object.

"Just open it." said Dee, now frustrated with the two boys fighting.

"Fine!" Abel opens the bag grumbling.

Abel was silent for a while before saying.

"Wow, guys, I think you need to see this." said Abel, surprised.

Richie turned around and looked inside the bag Abel is holding up.

"Dee, those thieves, they are definitely not normal." Inside the bag, aside from the bottle of wines; are bundles of money, a pile of important looking documents and a ledger.

Richie brought the bag beside him to let Dee see the contents.

"You think they're a syndicate? Those look like props from a mafia movie". said Dee after she clicked her tongue.

"You think they'll leave us alone if we give it back?" Abel asked, "We could say, hey guys, sorry for the trouble but we only need the wines, you think that will work?"

"I don't fucking think so". Richie said looking at Abel with irritation.

"I heard somewhere that some gangs started using gator in their turf wars. You think it's something like that?" said Dee.

The van, by this time, had passed by a highway near the city square. From their vantage point, they can see the LED screen broadcasting the concert live below the concert footage ate rolling flash news reports happening in the city.

"Shit! The money, that district and the gator, Fuck!, guys I think it's the ‘Squares." Richie said. He pointed at the headlines' that are scrolling on the lower side of the monitor.

The headline read;

"Turf wars between the Squares and the Jaguar Boys escalating, black market Gator power releasing drug on the rise."

It all made sense. their guess was right and according to the news, the two thieves might be part of the 'Squares one of the main gangs in the city.

The three looks at the screen, dumbfounded, as the van passes by the big monitor. They were about to react with their usual curses when something hit the back of the van.

"What was that?!" Richie screams.

In the rear view mirror, Dee saw a car chasing after them.

"Boys…" Dee was about to say something when Abel interrupted with a scream.

"They're still chasing us!!"

Dee almost loses control over the van and it swerved. The three of them panicked. Richie trying to salvage the situation passes the bag to Abel, he unbuckled his seat belt, got to back of the van, opened the van's roof window and let himself out. Still wearing his gloves; he gave two air punches in the hopes of getting the thieves off their back.

To his disappointment, the thieves maneuvered their car to avoid getting hit by the ball of compressed air.

"Ow come on, how the hell did they do that?" Richie screams in frustration. "Dee, drive faster."

"Fuck you! I'm driving as fast as I can" replied Dee.

Richie continued with his barrage of air punches, but the thieves are too good at maneuvering their car.

One of the thieves, the Chief, put his head out the car window.

Richie let out a scream as he saw the thief took out a grenade.

"Grenade!" Richie screams. He ducks inside the van and panicked.

"Dee, do your ninja thing! Do the ninja thing!" He shakes Dee in panic.

"What? Oh, yeah" said Dee. Her eyes turn black and the car multiplied. Five cars that look exactly alike are now driving on the freeway being chased by the thieves.

"Ha! Fuck you suckers." Abel shouted while raising his right hand in the roof window with his middle finger showing.

The four illusion vans mimicked the original, so now, five cars with the dirty finger are on the highway. This irritated the thieves.

The Chief threw the grenade at one of the vans, the one farthest to the right. It went thru the van and hit the ground. While the van they were in was not damaged the impact caused them to swivel. The four illusion vans swiveled as well mimicking the original.

The three thought simultaneously on how lucky they were that they escaped. But to their demise, they thought of it too early. The thief threw another that hit the illusion car right next to them.

Again it hit the ground, but since the van is closer this time the explosion impact made the van topple over. As the van was turning in the midair the three were screaming;

"Dios Mio!!"

"Shit! You fuck turd thieves!!"

"Protect the wines!!"

In a world where super-powered beings exist, crime and corruption are everywhere and superheroes always save the day, lives three individuals whose sole goal in life is not to get fired.

This is not a story about heroism, this is the goddamn crazy life of three roadies who got entangled in mess after mess.

It's a good thing they got powers huh?

Everything in here was supposed to be in comic format but somebody (namely Frost) is too busy with Arkhon and his other paying clients to actually make time for this. So please excuse my writing.
