[Heavy Rain]
"You couldn't ßave them and that'ß okay." Rose turned to see the hand belonged to a short, grey, one eyed being. She realized that it was the Moon, but she wastoo tired and sad to be scared. "It waß hiß choice." The Moon drew out her s' as she spoke.
Rose sniffled and pushed back a strand of hair. "What do you mean? His choice?" The Moon smiled kindly and told her what she meant. It was destiny. Rose understood. She now understood her job and her role. The two flew back to the cave, to find Bellis still on the ground. Blood dripped into a small pool. Bellis slightly twitched. Seeing this, the Moon went over to his crumpled body.
She picked him up and spread out her wings. "I can only carry one perßon." She said monotonously. "I will take him to a doctor and come back for you later." Rose nodded back gloomily with her back facing towards the other. After she heard the flapping of wings disappear, Rose turned around to find herself alone.
Alone.
This feeling was not new to her. Sure, she had friends, but she was always different from them. They were all outgoing and excited, except for Helian, but he had Bellis. Now that Helian was dead, Bellis would be alone as well. That was her fault. She knew that too.
Rose clenched her fist. She always acted like she was better than everybody else. It was just a shell. Her friends were getting hurt and she never let them know how much she truly enjoyed their presence. She nagged them a lot, but it was because she really cared about them. They did a lot of stupid stuff and it had been her job to protect them.
Rose looked outside at the dark, bloody sky. She had failed her job. DD had beaten Bellis and killed Helian, all while Rose sat back and watched. She did not protect them. But now she had her second chance. She knew what was best. Rose always knew what was right, but it was her nature to suppress it. Compared to Helian and Lily, she had a much richer and affluent family. Her parents raised her to care for herself and only herself. This made her seem snobby and caused tension between her and Lily.
As thoughts roamed the cavity of her head, Rose started walking down the side of the mountain. In an attempt to express her feelings, as she was bad at saying them out loud, Rose would write them into her stories. However, she was always too scared to have her friends read them. They were just fantasies, but she always felt that they were real. Sometimes the lines blurred and she would forget that she never told them how she really felt.
The clouds above her felt her pain vicariously and cried. Rose finally realized that her life was never the stories she read and wrote. But she could be the person she wrote. She was real. Her mind was real, and had the ability to act.
She looked up; anger and determination spread across her face. Lightning flickered illuminating the black world. She screamed in anger. How could she let this happen? A boom sounded behind her. Rose trudged through the heavy rain and large puddles. She trekked through the tall wet grass that was now wilted and brown. She stopped and kneeled down.
At her feet there was a puddle of blood, pink from the constant batter of rain. The grass around it was matted down. Rose inspected the area closer. She picked at a piece of grass and pulled up a thin strand of blue hair. Her eyes grew thin as her fist grew tighter around it. She knew just what that strand meant. What it meant to the rest of her friends, to the people she did not know, and to herself.
Rose stood up again. Her stance was full of energy. She screamed over the storm. "Watch out DD! I won't let you get away with hurting my friends!”
???: Oh! Büt Rose! Yoü already have let me!”
"I'll find my stone too! Then I will show you!”
???: Yoü will only go nowhere.
Thunder echoed through the valley. Powerful gusts of wind threw branches and leaves to the ground. Large droplets of rain slammed into every open space. Rose tied back the loose strands of hair that whipped her face back into a messy bun.
