With a deep sigh you take one last look at yourself in the mirror. Even though the design is basically the same, the night class uniform feels so different somehow. Can't exactly say that you were looking forward to the reactions you were going to get from the day class either. This would be the first time you saw them since before you got to know you were a vampire. You didn't even want to think about how they had reacted to you switching classes. And to add to that Shoko, Minami and Mizuki were going to be there.
For what felt like the millionth time your thought process was interrupted by a knock on the door. You went over there and opened it, revealing a certain blonde, green eyed male. "We're about to head out, you ready?" Takuma asked with his signature smile. "Yeah, I was just about to go downstairs" you say with a slight smile, trying to contain the fact that your hands were shaking behind your back.
The two of you headed down to the main entrance where the others were waiting for you. "Sorry if I made you wait" you said with a bow as you reached them. "No worries, it's not like you're late" Senri pointed out, making you sigh in relief. Looking over at the clock, you saw he was right. In fact, you were right on time, and only seconds later the doors opened for you all to exit.
Well outside, you felt yourself dragging behind a bit, trying not to attract too much attention. This in turn resulted in Takuma as well slowing his pace to match yours. Eventually, you as well had to reach the place where all the girls were waiting in lines. You immediately felt all their gazes on you, all of them seeming to share a combination of jealousy and irritation for you at the moment. As you lifted your gaze to look out at them your eyes immediately landed on the three people you were hoping you wouldn't see: Minami, Shoko and Mizuki. In contrast to the other girls' their eyes were much sadder, it almost seemed as if they felt abandoned.
Seeing that look on their faces you quickly looked down in shame, not wanting to make eye contact for any longer. The male beside you seemed to notice this, however, as you soon felt a hand ruffling your hair. "Stop looking so depressed, would you?" he said with another one of those smiles. You felt your cheeks heat up slightly at the whole situation, before simply giving him a small smile in response. Maybe not the smartest of actions, as you felt the irritated gazes turn into death glares.
A bit further ahead, two particular vampires seemed to notice that you and Takuma were falling behind, and also the fact that you were the cause of this. So, with one glance at each other, Senri and Rima turned around and walked up to the two of you, before grabbing one of your arms each and pulling you along with them. "You're walking too slowly" they stated in unison, as you hurried your step to keep up with them. Takuma did the same, even though he was not being forcefully dragged against his will. This in turn did not make the death glares better, per say. In fact, you getting even more attention from the night class most likely pissed off the fangirls even more. Guess you could say you had Yuki and Zero to thank for your survival that day.
Once you all reached the school building, you were finally able to escape the piercing glares from the fangirls. "How do you guys deal with that every day? They're fucking creepy" you said, shivering slightly at the bare thought of them. "You'll get used to it" Rima said nonchalantly and Takuma just gave you a reassuring smile. Getting no better answers you simply sigh as all of you proceeded to your first class: Ethics.
Realizing that was the first subject of the night made you think back to that weird teacher who just kept giving you strange glances. 'I wonder what the night class' teachers are like... Are they going to be vampires as well? Or do they even know that the night class are vampire? Better watch my tongue in class, just in case...' you thought to yourself, spacing out to the degree where you didn't even notice that you had already entered the classroom. Much to your relief, though, the teacher wasn't present yet.
"Hey, (f/n)?" you heard Takuma ask you, as sweetly as ever. "If you want somewhere to sit, the seat next to mine is vacant. Y-You don't have to, of course! Just thought I'd mention it" he said, his cheeks getting dusted with a slight shade of pink somewhere along the line. "Sure, that sounds great! Lead the way" you said with a cheery smile, ignoring his slightly awkward behavior. To that, he simply gave you a quick nod, before the two of you started making your way to the back of the classroom, by the windows on the left side. Once he reached his seat he quickly sat down, and you followed suit, sitting down next to him.
As you waited for the arrival of your teacher, you couldn't help but smile at the peaceful atmosphere that enveloped you at the moment. It somehow just felt like you belonged there. No high pitched screeching, no fangirling, no yelling and no one bothering you. It just felt so... perfect.
Your short moment of internal peace was however soon interrupted by the sound of the door opening. In stepped none other than professor Yagari, the teacher that had been giving you weird glances during ethics in the day class. As he entered the room, it didn't take many seconds for his eyes to land on you, which instantly lead to an eye contact that couldn't really be described as anything but a glaring contest. A few seconds later, he however decided to break the tense silence, not that his comment made the situation all that much better...
"You know, I thought there was something off with you. It's a shame, though, that such a sweet and intelligent girl turned out to be a vampire. What a waste..." he said, and the slight smirk on his face told you immediately that it was his intention to mock you. You didn't want to give in to such obvious mockery, and instead decided to remain silent. The same could not be said for everyone else as a certain blue eyed blonde just started yelling.
"Don't think you can just come in here and insult...!" Hanabusa began his yelling only to be cut off by Kaname only seconds later. "Aido! No need for yelling, simply leave it be. She's not making a fuss, no need for you to" he said calmly as always. It did kind of surprise you that he raised his voice ever so slightly at Hanabusa, but considering that the male in question was yelling it was probably necessary in order to get his attention. Yagari's smirk disappeared almost immediately after, turning back into his standard scowl. "Tch, whatever, let's just begin class" he said annoyedly before turning toward the board.
The whole situation just had you blushing ever so slightly. Mostly the fact that the guy who seemed to hate your guts yesterday now tried to defend you. It was weird, he never really seemed to have gotten over the fact that you didn't use the right title when addressing Kaname yesterday, but now he was about to yell at this teacher simply for offending you. Seeing as this guy clearly wasn't a vampire, though, considering his words and attitude toward you, you simply shrugged it off as a matter of him sticking by his own.
You then suddenly felt a hand being placed on your own under the table. Looking up toward the cause, you noticed it was Takuma giving you another one of those reassuring smiles that you loved. 'Hold your horses, (f/n)! "Loved"? I mean, I do quite like that smile of his, it succeeds in being reassuring, you know? But love?...' you thought to yourself as you felt your face grown increasingly red by the minute as you felt your eyes drawn to that smile of his, even though he had long since brought his focus back to the lesson.
That smile, no rather that face, was really handsome. You'd thought about that fleetingly in the past, but now that you were seeing it like this, up close and actually thinking about it, you couldn't help but consider how handsome it actually was. That sharp jawline, that comforting smile he always wore, not to talk about those gorgeous green eyes. They were so captivating, not like anyone could really blame you for looking, right? You'd never really felt like this before, and you couldn't tell if you liked it or not. Just looking in those eyes you felt as if butterflies were flying around in your stomach and heat rose to your face. You couldn't exactly tell what it was you felt either. It was so foreign, it might just have been anything. Maybe you were just sick or something...
You then remembered the hand that was still on yours, making your blush deepen even further, if that was even humanly possible. Not only was his hand on your hand, it was also in your lap, as that was where both your hands were located. You could feel the tips of his fingers slightly touching your thigh, just beneath the hem of your skirt. You doubted he even noticed himself, but now that you had it was the only thing you could think about.
Somewhere deep inside you, a voice kept telling you that this was absolutely right. Despite the fluttering feeling in your stomach and the terrible nervousness taking over your body against your will, it's as if this is how it was supposed to be. His touch, his eyes, him in general, it all felt like how it was supposed to be. Like for once, everything was right in the world...
What the hell was this feeling?!?
