Nínimel's P.O.V
I sat on my throne with Allzeh by my side waiting for our guests to arrive. Finally the doors opened and in walked a blank faced girl and a stern faced if not slightly amused mermaid. "Welcome! I trust your journey was fast and peaceful?" I said standing up to greet them. "Yes, it was fine." The mermaid said, "I am Edlin and this is Neta we come with important news." I nodded my head. "It is about the prophecy is it not?" Neta stepped forward, "I am sorry to rush this, but we must make our way to the Shadow realm." "Why?" Allzeh asked. "I must collect my weapon described in the prophecy, you three already have yours. Mine is the most difficult to obtain it is known as the Devil's quiver." Neta explained. I gasped, "That belongs to the king himself!" "Why was I not told about this on the journey here!" Edlin exclaimed. "I did not tell you because you would not have agreed to come, you can not turn back now." Neta said calmly. "Well we best be off then." I said hurrying out of the room Allzeh on my heels.
I climbed into my carriage after Neta. I was dressed in traveling trousers and blouse. We were moving the moment I closed the door. "Getting to the castle entrance should be easy, but getting inside is a the challenge. It is guarded by a demon named Amaimon, in exchange for entrance he will ask you to do something for him." Neta explained showing us a map of the Shadow realm. "Leave him to me." I said. "Okay, once inside Allzeh you must use you control over the wind to move the quiver over to us as fast as possible. Edlin you will use the water in our canteens to make a rope that will hold King Crowley until we are well out of his range." Neta said pointing to each of them. The both nodded. Suddenly the bright sunlight coming from the windows drastically dimmed leaving the carriage in semi-darkness. "We've crossed the border." Neta whispered.
It was fairly smooth ride to the entrance. We stopped and I got out. There stood a man in a black toga, slightly taller than me with a heart shaped face and pleasant features. He has ram horns and a tail. His tail was matted and full of foxtails and burs. I knew exactaly what I was going to do. I quickly grabbed my bag and Neta looks at me weird. Amaimon looked at me and asked "What do you offer to do?" "Groom your tail." I said, "Now sit down." Amaimon did as I said. I sat down behind him and gently picked up his tail. I began to take all the burs out of his tail. One by one a small poor was created. Then I poored a little rose oil on his tail and began to brush. I worked slowly. "Your friends may proceeded, but you must continue." Amaimon said. The carriage moved forward and pasted up. I continued to brush his tail. After a moment he started to purr. He stopped himself and looked back at me. I pretended I didn't hear a thing. I kept brushing and slowly untangled his the fur on his tail. He started to purr again and this time he couldn't suppress it. I kept brushing as he purred. I combed out a super tangled tangle and he yelped a little. "Sorry." I said. He looked back at me and motioned for me to continue. Finally I was able to completely brush out his tail. "Done!" I said I stood up proud of myself. His tail look magnificent now. "Thank you." He said. I looked at his hair that looked just as bad a his tail from before. "My group will not need me until we leave and I have plenty of time to spare may I untangle your hair." I asked slightly bashful. "Yes please do so." Amaimon said sitting back down. I had to stand this time in order to brush his hair. It was peaceful and nice until an explosion rocked the earth.
Allzeh P.O.V
When we arrived Nínimel knew exactly what to do she simply started to groom his tail and after a few minutes the guardian let us pass, but we had to leave Nínimel behind. I felt bad at first, but soon got over it as we pulled into a pitch black courtyard with demons and wraiths wonder back and forth as what appeared to be castle servants. We got out of the carriage. Neta simply walked all the way to the throne room.
When I looked at the king he was a giant frog. I rubbed my eyes confused, but I was not there sat a giant frog with a crown on its head and a cape around its shoulders. "Allzeh your time to shine." Neta whispered into my ear. I jump using the power of the wind to make it seem like I was flying. Quickly I spun throwing my leg up into the air when I finished a complete spin. It sent a huge gust of air into the face of the King. Knocking him backwards. He ribbited at me angrly. The king jumped at me and I quickly back out of reach. Edlin took the water from our canteens and made a whip. She was able to wrap the whip around the King tying him up. I saw Neta looking around the throne for the quiver. I saw it hanging from the back of the throne. "There!" I shouted pointed at it. Neta heard saw me and quickly grabbed the quiver. She pulled and arrow out and fired it at the wall. When the arrow mad contact the wall exploded leaving a gaping hole for us to quickly escape through. I pushed Edlin and Neta out the hole along with myself. I lowed us a gently as I could into the court yard. We all scrambled into the carriage. The elk quickly turn around and we made out of the courtyard. When we reached where we left Nínimel we simply grabbed her and pulled her in. "You are welcome in the Forest realm anytime!" Nínimel shouted back at the gate keeper. I only relaxed when we were safely out of the Shadow realm.
Edlin's P.O.V
We were back in Nínimel's castle. We were all sitting in the war room. Nínimel was tracing invisible pictures on the table. Allzeh was making the steam from her tea turn into different shapes. Neta appeared to be sleeping her hood over eyes. I looked at the map of the realms on the table. I looked at all the realms and the land marks on them. I noticed that the landmark for the water realm was our island trading post. "Why is our palace not on here?" I asked. "Because the mapmaker was not merfolk." Neta said. "Ya, there is no way someone who isn't merfolk could have placed your underwater palace on here." Allzeh added. "Nínimel who is your map maker I must speak with him!" I asked. Nínimel just kept tracing shapes on the table. "You Highness!" I shouted. "What!? Yes, uh... what are discussing." Nínimel said coming out of her day dream. "Your map maker who is he?" I asked again. "She." Nínimel replied. "What?" I asked. "My map maker is a female. She is a fairy who lives near the base of the Great Tree." I raised an eyebrow. "A fairy?" Nínimel rolled her eyes. "Yes, a fairy." (Read that with as much queenly sass as possible) "It must be hard for her to make large maps." I stated. "Her name is Keijukainen and contrary to popular belief not all fairies are tiny and live in flowers." Nínimel said. "We have to go see her about this map!" I slammed my fist on the table startling Allzeh. "She is in the Holy realm at the moment making a map for an angel prince." Nínimel said bitterly.
"Something tells me you don't like this prince." Allzeh said. "He is one of my suitors." Nínimel spat out the word suitors. I raised my eyebrows in surprise. "The Forest and Holy realms are trying to combine??" I asked. "No! No! He is just a suitor I have no intention of marrying him." Nínimel said waving her hands dismissing the idea. "We have nothing else to do at the moment that is until something pops up." Allzeh said excited. Nínimel sighed, "Fine. I shall send word to Prince Princeps." (Google the translation of Princeps) Nínimel got up and went to find a messenger. "Do you think this Prince is that bad?" Allzeh asked. "No probably not, but I think Nínimel has found someone else." Neta said. "Really? I wonder who?" Allzeh said. I was wondering the same thing.
Allzeh's P.O.V
I couldn't wait to go to the Holy realm! It was the only realm I had yet to preform in. I hoped that the prince we were going to meet would like my dancing.
It seems like such a nice place the Holy realm. With angels, griffins and Pegasi, I simply could not contain my excitement! "Allzeh your misting." Edlin said. "Huh?" I looked around me to see a thick mist had started to form. "Eek!" I quickly waved my hands to try and get rid of the mist. "Do all of you do that when excited?" Neta asked. "No, some crest rain clouds or fog or even strong winds." I said still trying to get rid of the mist. "Interesting." Edlin said starring at me.
Nínimel came back in the room. "A message has been sent we leave for the Holy realm tomorrow evening." She stated plopping back down in her chair in a very unqueenly fashion. "Hey you alright Ním?" Neta asked. "I'm fine just tired." She said closing her eyes. "Your lying." Neta said. "I'm just not thrilled about Princeps." Nínimel said. Neta looked at her closely. "I'm going to my room to retire for the night I suggest you do the same." Nínimel left the room. "I'm worried about her." Neta said getting up. "Yes." Edlin mumbled deep in thought.
Nínimel's P.O.V
We sat in carriage on our way to the Holy realm I was less than thrilled. The last time I saw Princeps we were discussing marriage. It didn't go well.
We arrived in the morning. Everyone exited the carriage. I sat in the carriage a moment longer then straightened my back and walked out. Almost instantly Princeps was by my side.
"Queen Nínimel it is a pleasure to see you again." He said bowing and holding out his arm for me to take. I took it and he lead us inside.
"You each have your own room and servant." Princeps said dramatically sweeping his hand to show three servants waiting to escort us to our rooms.
"There are only three servants." Allzeh said.
"I will be escorting Queen Nínimel to her room." Princeps said kissing my hand. I tried to smile, but it was forced.
Quickly my friends were escorted away and I was dragged along by Princeps.
"Here we are." He said. I thanked him and quickly made my way into my room. The drapes as well as the quilt on the bed where green. The rest of the room was lined with gold.
A few things that you should know about the Holy kingdom is that they rank there people by blood color. Gold bloods are the highest, then it is the silver bloods, then the bronze bloods and finally the white bloods are the lowest of the low. This is not a problem for those who visit almost everyone else has red blood or in some cases green. This did not cause a problem for us until dinner time came about.
I arrived in the dinning hall and noticed that they were arranging everyone by blood color and status. I felt someone grab my arm and pull me aside. I turned to see Allzeh looking quite worried.
"What is the problem?" I asked worried. She looked around nervously.
"I have white blood! It is not uncommon among my people, but here it appears that that blood color is like a curse." She whispered to me urgently. I nodded understanding her problem.
"Let me talk to Princeps, I'm sure he can make an exception because you are not of angel decent." I quickly made my way to the front of the table. Princeps watched me approach.
"Princeps, one of the people part of my party is a wind nymph and as you know there are two different blood colors that are common, white and blue." I said. "Your point?" He asked. "One of my traveling companions is a Nymph and she has white blood so I was wondering if she could have a seat next to me." I said very rushed. "No." I was shocked and offended. "She can not. She has peasant blood." He said sternly. "I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU WOULD DISRESPECT ME IN THIS WAY!" I shout. I felt all eyes turn toward us, but I didn't cease shouting. I am not ashamed to say I went on a bit of a rampage. I was shouting and flailing my arms all about. I could feel the tips of my ears turning red. Soon fairies started to show up and joined in my scolding of the Holy Prince. All the servants and slaves were standing there in shock. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Neta and Edlin trying to conceal laughter. I'm not sure what I said, but it certainly wounded Princeps pride quite a bit. Finally I was finished. The fairies gave me small kisses and left. Princeps cleared his throat.
"She can sit where ever she likes." He said very quietly. I nodded my head and promptly sat down. Allzeh quickly sat next to me and thank me with a gentle breeze through my hair. I heard clapping. I turned by head to see Edlin enthusiastically clapping. Neta soon joined her. One by one the servants joined in. Soon the banquet hall was filled with applause.
Soon after dinner Princeps approached me.
"Your Highness, the display you put on at dinner this evening was very inappropriate and disgraceful." He said whispering angrily to me.
I looked at him with mock confusion. "Princeps, my display as you put it was indeed appropriate. You disrespected a member of my party and a dear friend of mine. You have no control over me or any of my party including my servants and gaurds. I suggest you get a hold of your princely self and learn to respect the differences of each race. Next time you do something like that I just might declare war. We don't want that do we?" I said making it very clear I wasn't joking. I watched as his face paled. You see we elves are known for our battle skills. Normally the elves are a peaceful race, but once we are threatened we destroy and/or conquer everything in our path.
I made my way to my room with out another word to him.
