Just what am I? (Takuma Ichijo x Reader)

Chapter 12

Chapter 12

Jun 13, 2017

"You can't go that way! The day class is still in session! Maria!" Takuma yelled, somehow still managing to sound polite, despite the fact that he was probably extremely irritated with her at this point. That's right, the two of you were currently chasing after the new female student who had decided to run off toward the school building in the middle of the day for no apparent reason whatsoever. Then again, there was no apparent reason to you following either, you had simply followed Takuma when he bolted after her.

Once the two of you rounded another corner in pursuit of her, a flock of day class girls appeared, and it didn't take a genius to understand that they were Takuma's fangirls. He stopped in his tracks when they started running toward your direction, before turning on his heel. "Catching Maria is up to you, I gotta run!" he half yelled before bolting off in another direction, soon followed by the horde of fangirls.

Deciding to do as he asked rather than simply standing there you then took off after Maria once again, trying to quicken your pace as much as you could. As you did, you started gaining on her bit by bit, and despite that, she seemed more amused than anything. You couldn't understand why her grin only grew wider as you were only metres behind her, and would catch up at any second. That is until she made a quick turn, bolting through another horde of fangirls with murder in their eyes. That murderous intent directed at you.

You abruptly stopped in your tracks with wide eyes, before they started running toward you, resulting in you running in the opposite direction. "How dare you get so close to the night class!?!" and "Get back here, bitch!!" were that two phrases you heard the most of as they chased you over the school grounds. As you ran past other students, they all stot you glances of either hate or pity, probably depending on whether they had feelings for any night class guys or not.

As you ran, you started gradually losing them, seeing as you were faster. Despite that, you would probably have to run all day if you were going to lose them completely, which would be a huge pain, honestly. So, instead you decided to use your knowledge of the grounds layout to your advantage and run to a good place to hide quickly. And that's when the few two metres high balconies came to mind. There were a few of those just after corners, so if you could get up on one of those before they got around the corner, you'd be home safe.

Seeing as that was the best plan you could come up with at the moment, you decided to go for it. After rounding one of those corners, you did a gracious and high jump, landing on the balcony in a crouching position with eyes closed for no particular reason as you waited for them to pass. A few seconds later you heard them running past below you, still shouting angrily, and then they disappeared.

Realizing you were safe, you exhaled the breath you hadn't even noticed yourself holding, before doing an attempt to fall backwards and lay down on the balcony, eyes still shut. However, when falling backwards, your back and head made contact with something, hindering your fall. At that, your eyes quickly shot open, soon meeting with a pair of green ones looking down at you. Looking at him, you could see his face gradually heating up in a million different shades of red, and you could only imagine yours doing the same as you could feel it growing hotter by the second.

Finally getting your head around the situation, you once again sat up properly before turning around so that you no longer had your back turned to him. Even though you were no longer leaning on his chest, the proximity between the two of you was still rather close, seeing as the balcony was pretty small, resulting in you almost having to sit in his lap for both of you to fit. So, even though both of your blushes had gone down considerably, they were still visible.

Reaching his arm up, he began awkwardly scratching the back of his neck before laughing an awkward laugh, trying and failing to clear the air. "I guess they came for you as well" he then said with another chuckle, snapping you back to reality. "Yeah... Sorry, I let Maria get away" you then apologized, realizing you had completely forgotten of her. "Don't worry about it. As the vice president it's technically my job to handle this situation, not yours" he then stated, his face seeming to go back to his normal kind smile.

That smile. No matter how many times you saw it, it still mesmerized you. This thought constantly came to mind, yet you couldn't help it. It was so... Warm. Something about it just felt like home, somehow. Not that you would know too much about that. Last time you actually had a home to speak of was when you were eight, and that was taken away from you oh-so abruptly. But, looking at Takuma now, it somehow gave you courage to hope that you'd be able to have a home again. That you'd get to feel like you were part of a family again. And... Somewhere deep inside, you knew you wanted to have him as a part of that family.

"Hello~?" You were snapped out of your thoughts by a hand being waved in front of your face. You looked up at Takuma, with a blush yet again spreading across your cheeks. "Where were you just now?" he said with a slight giggle, and ruffled your hair ever so slightly, only deepening the blush. "Thinking about something in particular? You were staring at me for quite some time..." he stated with an expression you hadn't really seen on his features before. He was smirking toward you. "Uh-uhm, no-nothing in particular, no" you managed to stutter out as the smirk playing on his lips only widened. It seemed as if he was planning on doing something, before changing his mind as his facial expression went back to the kind smile.

"Well, let's go back. We've lost her, so no use in staying. We'll only draw unnecessary attention" he said before standing up and offering you a hand. In response you simply nodded before grabbing his hand and standing up. The two of you jumped down and started walking back to the moon dormitory while hoping to god that none of the day class girls saw you.

'Seriously though, what was that look all about?'

Author's note! Another update, and I'm really sorry it's late! I am seriously dying from school, so many assignements and exams I think I might just drown in them. The good news is I've actually managed to get myself a job for the summer, and it looks like it'll pay pretty good as well! Either way, I'm definetly going to have more time writing once summer vacation comes, and it's only two weeks away now. That all being said, I hope you enjoyed this chapter and that you're looking forward to the next one! //Yours truly, Handsomesquid :3

(f/n) (l/n) is a day class student at Cross Academy and one of the few uninterested in the night class. Instead, her time is directed at reading and studying. Many people would call her a model student, but those who know her all know she has something fo a deathwish. One night, though, she meets Takuma by the school building, and they become what can only be described as close friends. How will their relationship progress and what exactly happened in her past?

You can just go ahead and ignore the first few author's notes, seeing as they're really outdated. I wrote them when I uploaded this to another page, meaning that some of the information doesn't really apply here. Just keep that in mind.
