After awhile another customer walks in. The bell rings. Purity, if that is her name, must have been here for some time if she works here, as mortals say. I stuff my hand in my jean pocket placing the volume on the shelf. I hear a door towards the back of the small shop creak open and I see a blue streak pass between the shelves. "Hey, you!" I whisper-yell, following her through the shop, the next volume in my hand instead of the one I'd already read.
She turns to look at me. Her blue and violet black hair covers her gold eye. "Yes?" She says, the eye showing wide and her voice soft, which startles me a bit. Just like I recall from the Void. I grab her arm and pull her back to the corner with the volumes I had been by. I look her dead in the eye and I move my shirt from my shoulder enough for her to see my mark. Her eyes widen. "You're from... home." She says finally.
I nod. "My name is Dark." I say quietly, she nods at me and takes my hand, pulling me through the shop back to where she had gone through the door. There are stairs that lead upwards and she drags me up them. At the top of the flight she lets go and yells for someone. The name I cannot distinguish.
