Her name was Haruka Kamanora. She's my next-door neighbor and best friend. She's also really the only girl I got along smoothly with. She's half Japanese half American. She has black hair a bit above her shoulders and one streak of pink runs through her bangs. She's kind of known by that symbol. bright Her eyes are greenish orange. She's a around average height, but has a very confident aura around her. No one has ever messed with her. Even though she seems like the louder more popular type of girl, she is sort of quiet. She seems to not have many friends. She always thought that it's better to treasure the one you’ve got though. She likes to talk a lot but the conversations we've had were always very easy going and made me laugh a lot. I really like her.

I placed my book back into my bag. " What's up " I asked calmly. " " April, guess what? I brought kimchi for lunch!!!" She said as she opened up a bento box which she had cleverly hid behind her. My eyes glittered. I was starving " Really?!" I asked. " Yep, and I feel like sharing" She said in a sing-song voice. She grabbed a nearby chair no one was using and sat down in front of me. " Want some? " She asked while tugging the edge of my skirt.

" Yes" I answered. Kimchi was one of my very favorite foods. She knew that too. "You’ve got to share with me too then April" Haruka said. "What do you mean?" I answered confused. Haruka gave me a look I know only too well. " Can I have some of your lunch? Please?!" She pleaded. " OK" I answered. As long as I got a bit of her kimchi I didn't really care.

I opened up my bento box. It was over flowing. It had tamago, karage, and even the classic onigiri. And when Haruka saw it her eyes got as big as saucers. No ever bigger. Big like when a cat see's a mouse. " How come you always have such a nice bento? She complained " You always have the best things. My mom always sticks me with kimchi. I don’t even LIKE kimchi. I sure am glad you like it though. Your so cool April" she exclaimed in a pouty voice.

" Yeah, yeah, yeah. Your always like this" I said truthfully. I picked up my wooden chop sticks and picked up a 2 pieces of my karage. I placed it on my napkin, and slid it over to her. Her face was glowing. You could literally see the drool on her lips. " Thank you SO much! You are the best!" said Haruka. Before I could even put my chop sticks down she had stuffed the food in her mouth.

It was really funny. Edges of the karage that didn't correctly fit themselves in Haruka's mouth were sticking out, like misplaced teeth. I giggled a bit, and the people who happened to look over smiled a bit too.

Lunch was going to end soon so I had to start my lunch. With the gapping hole of missing karage now in my bento box, I slowly reached my hand over to Haruka's kimchi. She didn't notice my hands grab the lid and pour the delicious kimchi right on top of my bento. She was to busy thinking about who knows what. Probably food. I picked up my wooden chop sticks and picked up the kimchi. I brought it close to my nose and then "MMMMMM". It was delicious.

Haruka gave me a weird look, and pinched her nose. I knew exactly what she was thinking " How can you eat that stuff?" were most likely the words. I ignored the look she gave me and continued eating the kimchi. She knew I liked kimchi, and if she really wanted to sit with me she had to deal with it. She sat there till the end of lunch gagging every time I took a bite. I guess Haruka did an ok job waiting me out. I liked her very much. She was a true friend.
