It's been a pain wearing specific clothes and not sneaking out as much, but I can deal with it. I got used to it anyway. I look at the time on my phone and sigh. It's almost dinner time.
I jump off my bed, and walk over to the closet. Recently, I've been feeling weird. Pointless even. I take out a nice shirt, and long jeans, and change into them. Once I finished changing, and shoved the clothes I was just wearing into the closet on one of the shelves I noticed the little cabinet in which I put my mask into. I almost forgot about it.
Opening the cabinet with a key I always hang around my neck, I pick up the mask and think to myself. Been a while.. I think it's safe now to sneak out again. Putting the mask back into the cabinet, and locking it, I turn around and look at the shelf where my crumpled up clothes were.
I sighed again, and walking out of the closet noted to myself to clean it up before sneaking out tonight. I clean it out almost every week. I'm always too lazy to put it into the laundry every time.
Walking up to my desktop, I check my email for my schedule, send my project to my teacher, and print out some papers. Turning it off, I notice the magazine with my photo on the front cover, and read the caption. "Perfect girl. Model since kindergarten, perfect smile, perfect family. She has a secret boyfriend?? Look on page 9 for more info!"
Perfect.. yeah right.. I throw it away into the trash next to my desk, and walk out the door. Smiling, I walk up to the table, and greeting everyone, sit down at my seat. "Hello, how is everyone?" Everyone sits down, getting me back and saying "good." the dinner was served, and I noticed that Elias wasn't at the table.
"Where is Elias?" I asked, before starting to eat. His mom looked over at me, and smiled "Oh, Elias? He just didn't feel very well. He's going to eat in his room today. Were you planning on meeting him?"
Looking down at my food, I blushed a little and replied "Oh.. No, I was just wondering if he was okay..." His father grinned, but didn't say anything. "I see. Well, he should feel better soon. One of your maids gave him medicine. If you want to see him though, I'm sure he wouldn't mind." Hearing his mother misunderstand me even more, I quickly raised my head up, feeling my ears getting red.
"O-oh, no! I was just wondering.. it-it's nothing like that!" I replied, all flustered. Shoving food into my mouth to not saying anything stupid again, I heard her laugh a little and say "I know, I know, I'm just messing with you." After everyone finished dinner, I said "Thank you for having dinner with us." and stood up to leave, but Elias's father called out to me before I could walk through the door.
"Hey Paige? Could you please go over to Elias's room and give him something for me? Your parents, and my wife and I are in a hurry to go somewhere, and don't really have time to do it ourselves." I looked back, and replied "Yeah, sure. What would you like me to drop off?"
He smiled, and handed me a little paper bag saying "Thank you very much." I didn't see what was inside of it, because it would be rude to look in, and now I'm on my way to his room with a mysterious bag in my hand.
Then, I realized. Wait.. Why did he give it to me? We have maids that can do that. And I didn't know they were going somewhere, especially in a hurry. My parents have amazing time-management. They are always early.
I was starting to get a little dizzy with all my thoughts, and didn't notice the wall in front of me. My head collided with the hard wall, and I fell back. The bag slipped out of my hand, and fell onto the floor next to me. Out of, fell out a note, and some item, but I couldn't recognize it. Before my brain fully started working again, I already shoved the contents back into the bag, and was about to get up, when Elias's door opened.
He looked down at me, and I looked up at him embarrassed. "You okay?" He asked, and stretched out his hand towards me. Taking his hand, and getting up, I replied a little flustered, "Y-yeah, sorry, thanks. Your dad asked me to give this to you." I handed him the bag his father gave me, and finally completely realized what just happened.
My ears turned red, and Elias seemed to notice, but he didn't say anything. "So, uh, thanks. What happen anyway?" He asked, and poked my forehead. My cheeks started heating up. I put one hand into my back pocket, and the other one ran through my hair. It felt tangled, and I replied embarrassed "Uh.. I kinda.. bumped into the wall....?" I bit my lip, and looked up at him.
At first, he seemed a little confused, but now, his face started lighting up, and he started slightly laughing. "Wait, what? How?" I looked away, and quietly said "dunno." I just realized that he looked pretty handsome. A smile fits his face, and what I think is his real personality.
This laughter.. and smile, look real. For once, he didn't fake his expression. He should smile more.. I realized I'm staring and asked while averting my gaze "So.. uh.. are you feeling better? Your mom told me you didn't feel well." His smile didn't fade yet, and but he stopped laughing. "Yeah, I actually feel much better. Thank you for asking. Oh, want to come in? Sorry for keeping you standing, I kinda forgot." I looked back at him, but not at his eyes. They were almost enchanting. "Uh, sure, if you don't mind.." It was a quick reply. I didn't know why he would want me in his room, but he looked like a kind and fun person.
"Great. Come in then." He moved out of the way, and stretched out his hand toward the inside of the room. I came in, and was instantly surprised. His room was so tidy, and clean.
Damn, he's like the opposite of me. Isn't this supposed to be the other was around? I turned around, and saw him put the bag I handed him on the table, and close the door.
He looked back at me, and said "You can sit down you know." I looked behind me, and saw a bean bag, onto which I sat on. He walked over to the bed, and sat down on it, facing me.
"So. How has your life been? Anything you're interested in?"
This... is gonna take a while....
