Dear Conscience,

It’s been quite a while since I last spoke to you, and for that I apologise.

It must be strange for you to suddenly receive this letter, although I didn’t think I’d even be able to send it in the first place. You see, there are not many places left that use snail mail anymore…

I know you’ll find it hard to believe the words I have written on the pages following, but please bear with my story, for it started the moment I left your side.

I wrote this letter because I have wanted to tell you what happened to me for a very long time… But it’s been hard trying to find the courage to write it down.

I do hope that you won’t ever be tempted to follow me down the path I took to get into the state I am in, even though it was never my intention to become one of them in the first place.
