Jul 02, 2017

I searched through my bag for my red and yellow umbrella. It always wound up at the very bottom of my bag which was a bit of a pain. Haruka looked in her bag for hers too. When she found it, her face glowed. "April, lookie, lookie. I got a new umbrella. What do you think bout it?" she said with great pride. She then, pulled it quickly out of her bag to reveal a pink and white umbrella. The pink parts were little bunnies and the while parts were pictures of snow. It s mostly white. It was the perfect umbrella for Haruka.

"Very cute, suits you quite well I might add." it really did look nice though. She smiled like a rainbow or just the way a Haruka smiles and then looked at mine. "Yours is totally the cutest of the cute!" she said with a gasp and rosy cheeks. I looked at mine and though " this umbrella is nice. I like it". Well…

Thank you" I said with a smile. I really meant it too.

We walked into the rain with our umbrella's ready. It was raining just as hard as it was that morning. I saw a few kids who forgot their umbrella's. They were running in the rain with their bags over their heads. They probably regretted not having an umbrella about then. Me and Haruka passed through the slick red gate and walked down the side walk.

We didn't talk while we walked we just smiled at each other. We turned around the block and I was back in my neighborhood. It still had that sweet smell too. I looked over at Haruka and she was breathing it in as if it were candy.

Before I knew it we were at her house. Her house was a two story with 4 windows on the front and 2 windows on the side. It was painted yellow. There were 10 wooden sleek step that led to the door. I walked up the steps till I stood in front of the door.

"Bye, April. I'll pick you up for school tomorrow ok?" She said in a peppy voice. "Sure" I nodded. She opened the door, wiped off her pink and white umbrella with the edge of her skirt, and waved to me. I walked back down the 10 steps till I reached my house. It was next door so it wasn’t a long walk.

My house is a two story with 2 windows in the front and 2 on the sides. It was red and white on the outside. My house didn't have the 10 steps like Haruka's did though. It just had the door on the left side of it.

I walked over to the red door and turned the knob. I walked inside. I sighed in exhausted and placed my bag on a hook near the door. I sat on the wooden floor and took of my shoes. I put them on the shoe rack next to my Mother's black shoes. I also took off my socks so my feet could breathe. They felt totally suffocated.

Once I had my feet now comfy, I glanced around the room to see if Mother and Father were home yet. My moms shoes were on the rack so I knew she was home. I didn't see Fathers shoes. He was probably still at work. My Dad's a construction worker. His name is Jin Shang. Most of the time he came home late. They let him come home a bit earlier on Monday's because he works more on Wednesdays. He wasn't home yet though.

I search the whole living room for Mom. My Mom's name is Min Shang. I didn't see her in the living room. I didn't really need anything from her, and she probably knew I was home. I decided to give up on the search and walk to my room. I walked up stairs and opened the first door on the right. It was my room.

I walked in and sat on my bed. My room was average sized. The walls were mint green. My books were on my shelf, my floor was of tatami, I had a single window, and I had a desk with some random papers in a neat pile placed cleverly on top lied. I lied back on my bed stretching every muscle of my body. It had been a long day and I was tired.

I was about to get up and make some food for dinner, but before I could my feet even touched the floor I was asleep.

To summarize, today was a good day. No one bugged me. No one bothered me. I got to be with Haruka. And to top it off, that kimchi was really good. The year had started of well.
