Katie scrambled to get up and leaned on the closest chair. Still feeling a bit wobbly she glared and the grinning figure of Ghost and hurriedly arranged her dress with one hand so nothing was showing.
"Shut up. Sir. What the hell just happened?" Ghost's grin widened as she looked around the class room. It was night time outside and the electric lights buzzed. She was still wearing the white floaty dress from the other place, but her wings were no longer out.
"I just saved your pretty little head thats what. Oh, and yes, you're back in the classroom from this morning. It was quite heroic of you jumping head first into the unknown of you. Luckily it was just a minor attack. I managed to handle it, get everyone back and close all portals," he adopted a smug look and Katie frowned at him, standing up straight now.
"So everyones alright? Diago? Dae? Kyo? All the other students?" Ghost nodded, still looking smug.
"Of course. It was easy to track everyone down, most of them landed in groups. Of course everyone automatically goes into their other forms when they go into Valkania," Katie frowned.
"Valkania? That is what that other place is called? So its definately not Earth?" Ghost chuckled, making Katie feel slightly idiotic. She scowled at him.
"It is Earth in a way. There are certain people in Valkania who want to take over both places. They are the ones who create most of the portals. They can only create them here though, where the wall between each exsistances is at its weakest. Sometimes the Pure Angels of Valkania visit us, but that is rare," Katie absorbed this with the same scowl. Something then dawned on her.
"Hang on a minute what day is it? Brigid said I have been asleep for 3 days!! Diago must be worried sick!" she began to hobble off to the door when Ghost caught her by the arm and pulled her back. His grip was cold and firm, yet gentle. She blushed and yanked her arm away.
"What? I gotta go see my brother!" Ghost chuckled again, making Katie want to hit him.
"Now now violence gets you no where," Katie blanched, "Now then, its the same day, about 9pm. The rest of the class were easy to track and get back here. You how ever, were not. I only got you because you let out a very big burst of power. That was basically like standing ontop of a hill and waving a big red flag yelling 'I'm here I'm here!' So I managed to open up a small portal and get you back here," Katie looked at him curiously. He returned the look, studying her as if she was something he'd never seen before. It began to make her blush, which in turn, made her angry.
"WHY are you looking at me like that!" Ghost grinned apologetically and spread his hands.
"Its just, no one of Earthdom has ever been invisible to me before. Plus I have never seen that amount of power being released from one who knows so little," Katie folded her arms and snorted.
"Well, when you have finished insulting me, I would like to return to my brother please," Ghost grinned again, this time with the same self satisfied grin he had on earlier.
"Very well Miss Jones, shall we go? I'm sure you'll need your sleep," Katie stomped to the door, yanked it open and stomped out of it, closely followed by a grinning Ghost. Throwing the doors to the outside open, Katie suddenly stopped in her tracks.
"Its fudging FREEZING," she suddenly exclaimed. Her teeth began chattering and she hugged herself. Ghost stood beside her and looked over to the dorms. He sighed.
"Here," He took off his robe and places it over her shoulders. Underneath he was wearing a t-shirt with a red and blue clad plumber with a big moustache and slightly baggy jeans. Katie pouted slightly and drew the robe around her, marching off towards the dorms without a word. Ghost rolled his eyes heavenward, sighed then smiled to himself before following her. His eyes watched her back with amusement. A small blonde girl, almost a women, hunched over slightly stomping in her bare feet, a oversized robe draped over her. As if sensing him, she stopped and turned, looking at him curiously.
"Come on then, sir, you're meant to be escorting me," Ghost chuckled
"Call me Ghost remember," Katie smiled slightly and this time kept in pace with him as they walked towards to dorms. He held the door open for her and they ascended the stairs in silence.
"Well, this is my dorm," said Katie as they stood outside the door. She looked at the floor and cleared her throat a little.
"Listen Ghost, er, thank-" the door was suddenly ripped open and a blur of blonde, white and black hit Katie at full speed.
"Oh my god Katie you're alright!! Thank god for that, I was so worried," Katie coughed slightly and patted her brother on his back.
"Glad to see you're fine too Dig. Now, would you mind if we actually stood up?" Diago had tackled her with such force both of them had ended up on the floor in a mess of black robe, blonde hair and white robes. Diago smiled apologetically and stood up, helping his sister up as well.
"Sorry sis. Hey, thanks Ghost, for getting her back! I was worried when you couldn't find her, but you spent the rest of your day searching for her. Thanks man," Ghost waved one hand and a slight pink tint blossomed round his cheeks on his pale face. Katie looked at him curiously again and he flustered suddenly.
"Erm, I must get going, give that robe back tomorrow Miss Jones, in class. See ya," with that he hurried off. Diago looked at his retreating back confused.
"Well hes totally weird. But it was so cool how he managed to get us all back!" Katie tore her eyes from Ghost's retreating back and looked at Diago and nodded. He began to herd her into the dorm. She looked round to see Kyo and Dae sat on the sofa. Kyo jumped up and went round to Katie, hugging her tightly.
"So glad your back! Who would of defended me against Dig and Dae if you ever got lost?" Katie chuckled and hugged her best friend back.
"You mean who would of supplied you with your ice cream," he grinned sheepishly as he let go. He was in a red t-shirt and jeans. Dae beamed at her as he approached.
"Miss you little K," he said as he hugged her. Katie swallowed slightly as he did, as butterflies suddenly started dancing in her stomach. She hugged him back, lightly, getting suddenly warm. Diago coughed and Katie felt Dae jump and quickly detach himself from her, looking sheepish. Katie stood, slightly confused. She realised she had missed Dae a lot more than she should of. Kyo started talking about the adventure they had had until Katie yawned widely. Diago suddenly went all brotherly.
"Right, now, you two off to your appartment now, Katie needs her sleep. We can talk about it tomorrow!" He herded Dae and Kyo out the door. Dae, wearing a blue open short sleeved shirt with a white longsleeved under top over black jeans, glanced back once more before Diago closed the door. Katie felt her face warm as their eyes met, then the door severed the look and she shook her head.
"C'mon you, time to get into your bed. Nice dress by the way, you should keep it, suits you," Katie smiled wearily at her brother and hugged him again.
"I missed you Diago, I was so worried," he patted her back and steered her to the bedroom.
"I know I know. But talk about it in the morning, you look like you've been ill or something," Katie yawned and nodded again. She grabbed her pjs, got changed in the bathroom, hung the dress up in the wardrobe and got into bed. Diago smiled at her before turning off her light and going into his own room.
"Night sis, sweet dreams,"
Night bro, sweet dreams," The age old exchanged was finished with the click of Diago's door and the room thrown into darkness. Katie closed her eyes and suddenly two faces popped up in her head. Ghost's smug grin, making Katie's heart flutter. Dae's soft smile, making her head go funny and the butterflies go wild. She screwed up her eyes. This might be a problem.
