“Fine, Speed, I'll jus' break his legs. Because that's a totally normal thing to do,” Doc began to try and crawl away, the feeling of something bad about to happen over coming the dizziness he was experiencing. As he reached out an arm forward, something heavy and solid crunched down on his hand. He felt all the bones break and gritted his teeth against the scream of pain that rose up in him. Six bent down on one metal knee and smiled sardonically at him.
“And where do you think you are going Doc?” Doc glared up at her. For some reason, it was then he remembered her and Four showing similar brain wave activity as One. One's had been the strongest, Six's nearly equal. Four's had been slightly less and the Doc hoped that this would mean some small amount of mercy on the large mans part.
“Hurry up Tank, I think I can hear the shufflers coming,” she removed her foot from Doc's hand and kicked him over, the blow almost breaking his shoulder. Four smiled apologetically, and shrugged.
“Sorry about this Doc, orders is orders,” As he reached down one massive metal arm to one of Doc's legs, a noise came from the open doorway and a manic looking scientist in a torn lab coat ran in, stopping in his tracks as his eyes took in the scene.
“Doc?!” Six ran at him, faster than any normal human, but the scientist threw himself to one side, Six colliding with the open door, her force slamming it shut. It was at that moment Doc saw what was in his hand.
“James! James, just do it, we won't survive this any way, take these bastards with us,” James blinked up at the Doc and nodded, Four looking around, bewildered, Six struggling to recover from her smash with the door. The young scientist stood shakily to his knees, his hands coming together as he pulled the pin from the new explosive they had creating. For a moment, time seemed to stand still. Four blinked stupidly as James dropped the explosive on the floor and it rolled to his feet. Six shook her head and realised what was about to happen. Her recovery happened a second too late as the explosion ripped through the room, annihilating every one in the room and blowing off the door. A fire roared our of the lab and through the corridors, taking out every thing in its path.
The helicopter shook with the violence of the explosion that tore through the roof of one part of the facility. The General smiled as he watched the people on the ground try to fight their way to safety. There was no way out. Hax had disabled all the vehicles and the fences, including the gates, had been electrified. The army facility had become a tomb for about six hundred people. No one who knew about The General and his team would survive, and, once he was satisfied every one was dead, he'd give the order to stop the electricity in the fence and let the shufflers run free. With no one to fight them, they would multiply like rabbits. The country would be his soon enough. Chuckling to himself, he looked over to the others in the helicopter, their faces glum.
“Cheer up chaps, we will start a new America, one where no one is controlled by the government like puppets. We will be a new breed of human,” Hax sighed and rubbed his fore finger and thumb over his eyes, a laptop balancing on his lap.
“We lost Tank and Speed, General. They were at ground zero of the explosion,” The General's face suddenly darkened in rage and he slammed a fist into the side of the helicopter, causing it to rock slightly. A voice came from the pilots cockpit.
“I'd prefer you didn't do that General. I want to get us out safe. You always knew it was a risk to send those two in. They were unstable,” running a hand over his face, The General calmed slightly and looked out the window again at the now diminishing facility.
“You are right, Seer, as always. We can replace them. I am just disappointed that we didn't get the tenth soldier. I really wanted her. I am sure she had some sort of secret hidden in her, the Doc would of made her special,” he frowned at Hax, “When the place is clear, I want scouts in it, to double check the girl didn't survive. In stasis, she will live for at least three weeks with out sustenance. The sooner we get her the better,” he held up his hand to the light in the helicopter, highlighting the small chip in his hand, “The sooner we get her, the sooner we can put this in her and our little troop will be complete,” Hax nodded and tapped away at his laptop, his cybernetic hand plugged in via USB3.0. The voice came over the intercom again.
“We should seek The Mad One too, General. He might be able to help,” The General closed his hand and looked out the window
“No, I won't seek help from the likes of him. He could destroy the whole plan. If we find him, I want him killed,” static came over the speakers for a moment before what sounded like a sigh
“Yes sir,” The speakers clicked off, leaving the five figures in the belly of the helicopter lost in their own thoughts.
