“What is this about? I have never seen reports of a death like this before, not in my memory anyways,” Azrael nodded and indicated to Uriel
“Our young Archangel here believes she has read about this type of death in a book before, but does not remember which one or where. We were hoping to make a request of you,” His mouth twitched up at the side slightly in a half concealed smile, “Since you are clearly bored of being here,” Metatron raised an eyebrow at her oldest friend and sighed slightly, shaking her head before smiling herself.
“Only you would say something like that to me old friend, most others would be too scared to speak to me in such a way. Not that I understand why, I am not God, I am not wrathful, I find myself to be quite laid back,” Azrael chuckled at this, while Uriel couldn’t help but break into a smile.
“Its because you are in charge my dear. It’s better that way anyways, otherwise you’d get the most mundane Angels boring you for hours about one thing or another, and trust me, that is not anyones idea of fun,” Metatron nodded thoughtfully, though a look passed over her face that said she had already experienced being bored for hours on end by mundane Angels.
“I suppose you are right old friend. So what do you need from me? I assume it means leaving this place and avoiding my responsibilities for a bit?”
“Well, we need someone to do research in the library. As I said before, Uriel believes she has read about this type of death before but doesn’t remember where, and we both know that Uriel does not have the time nor the attention span to do the research herself,” Uriel made a move to protest, but she through for a moment, and leaned back, nodding in agreement. Azrael smiled at her and then looked back to Metatron, “So we were wondering if you would like to take a trip to the library in your spare time, to read through the books, do some research relating to this mysterious type of death?” Metatron’s face lit up, but she tried to remain composed.
“I would love to take on this research, you know how I love the library. Hopefully, if I move around it enough, Angels will take longer to find me in there as well,” She thought to herself a moment and the nodded, slightly too vigorously, unable to conceal her happiness at getting out of her rooms and doing something useful, “Yes, I think I will go start today in fact. Is it alright to take this files with me?” Azrael nodded and waved a hand at them
“Yes, of course, I wrote them just for you my dear, they have all the information we have gathered in there, what little information we have, including dates and places. Most of the deaths are taking place in one city, which strikes me as slightly suspicious,”
“Do we have Angels on the ground investigating this city yet? Surely if all the deaths have happened in one place, it would be easier to find the suspect,” Azrael shrugged and nodded
“You’d think that, but without knowing what kind of being we are looking for, we can’t do much in terms of an investigation,” Metatron sighed and got to her feet, clutching the files under one robed arm. Azrael stood too, and Uriel scrambled slightly to follow suit.
“I shall head to the library and search for deaths of this type. I have a feeling it will be Hell related. I don’t know why, but this definitely feels like a demon attack, but I can not put my finger on it,” Azrael nodded and indicated to Uriel
“Me and my young friend here will leave you to it, I have work to do and I am sure Uriel has things to do as well” Uriel smiled and nodded politely
“Yes, I have to meet Raph later for a walk, as well as sort my paperwork. Or at least assign someone to sort my paperwork,” She grinned slightly and Metatron beamed at her
“My kind of girl!” Metatron looked at the files one last time, frowning slightly, “I still wonder what is happening in this city. Where abouts is it?”
“I believe it’s in the South of a country the humans call England,”
