Katie was distracted. The first lesson of the day was Math, and it was things she already knew. The class was exactly the same as the class the day before. The teacher had seemed nervous of them and just set them work, sitting at her desk, watching them all closely. Katie had finished the work and took to looking out the window, where a flock of angels had just floated past, chatting.. She longed to be outside, to practice transforming and flying. The end of lesson bell jogged her out of her day dream and she hurried to pack her stuff up and get to the next class. She had been uncomfortable around Dae, since he turned up on their doorstep to walk with them to lessons with Kyo. He has smiled at her and her heart did a dance in her chest.
"Katie, you've packed that book twice,"
Diago pointed out as she took out a book only to put it back in her satchel. She turned and looked at him, slightly dazed.
"Whaaa? Oh, right, yeah,"
Diago looked at her, worried, but she brushed him off with a quick smile and practically ran out of the room. She looked briefly through the windows into the room and saw Dae watching her. Feeling the heat rise to her cheeks, she hurried on. Digging out her schedule, she looked to see what was next.
"DAMMIT!!"
She swore out loud as she saw the blank space in room 666, twice in a row. Just what she needed. Double Ghost. As if it wasn't hard enough being dumped in this hell hole, told you’re an angel and then thrust into another world, she had a crush on her teacher AND her brothers best friend. Other students looked at her warily as she stomped past them, her face a picture of rage. She didn't notice as a group of girls scurried out of her way, squealing slightly. As she got to the Necro Building then Room 666, she took a deep breath, then stormed into the room. Wincing slightly as the door banged against the wall, she looked around. It was empty. With a pout, she stomped to her seat and threw herself down.
"Nice entrance Miss Jones,"
Uttering a little scream, she jumped out of her chair to see Ghost smirking behind her, appearing, so it seems, out of no where.
"How the hell do you do that?!"
Ghost chuckled and waggled a finger at her
"Its not nice to swear at your teacher Miss Jones,"
Not in the mood for anything, Katie threw herself back in her seat, folded her arms and legs and pouted.
"Screw you. You're only like 5 years older than me. Why should I listen to you,"
Ghost walked past her desk and towards the front of the classroom, his robe billowing slightly behind him.
"I'm 7 years older than you, Katie. And you should listen to me because I'm here to teach you how to survive,"
Katie snorted and scowled at a random point in space. Diago suddenly appeared in the doorway, huffing as though he had been running. Sensing the tension in the air, he looked at Katie, then at Ghost.
"Erm, I'm not interrupting anything am I? Should I wait outside?"
Ghost, not taking his eyes off the fuming Katie, summoned Diago in with one hand.
"No you are not Mr Jones. Please come in and take your seat. I was just explaining to your sister why she needs to listen to me,"
Diago approached Katie with caution, then took his place beside her. She turned away from him and looked out the window. She ignored everyone as they all came in and only moved when Ghost coughed and spoke to the class.
"Right, I will tell you all now. I wont waste any more time on transformations. I want you to practise them in your own time. But I also want you to come to these lessons transformed," he waited as the murmuring to this announcement died down, "So I want you all to transform now, to the best of your ability. Hurry hurry,"
He smiled slightly at the dismay of his students. Katie sighed and closed her eyes, thinking back to when she was just normal as an angel, back with Brigid. The tingling feeling spread through her body and pain shot across her shoulder blades as she could feel her wings growing. She grimaced at the pain, wondering if it would ever go.
'Of course it will. The more you do it, the less it will hurt,' Startled at the voice suddenly appearing in her head, she opened her eyes. Luckily her transformation was fully finished. Looking around, she saw Ghost watching her intently. She gave him a suspicious look, then looked to her brother and her friends. Diago was slumped over his desk, a bored look on his face, his wings flexing. Dae was as close to glaring at Ghost as mild mannered Dae could be, which shocked Katie slightly.
