Sophie led me out of the hedge and into the castle via a humongous wooden door.
The castle's interior was dark and musty with many white cloths covering various furniture’s and painters.
To say the least it underwhelmed me but hey it's only like this because this is probably a part of the castle that’s not open to the public. I’m sure back in its day it was fantastic.
Sophie saw my disappointed look and said, “Yeah it does look depressing doesn’t it”
“Yeah I was picturing something more Disney-like”
We stood in silence for a few minutes before Sophie nudged me and said” hey let’s explore some other rooms I’m sure not all of them look this dusty”
Reluctantly I sighed and followed her to an ornate style door on the other side of the dark room. I opened the door and peered inside.
The décor of this room was a huge contrast to the room we had just seen. It was so detailed with a chessboard tiled floor, sparkling chandelier and lavish paintings depicting cherubs and holy saints hung on the velvet covered red walls but the most stunning thing in the room was a gold encrusted piano with intricate patterns placed all over it.
I gasped at the stunning room and turned to ask Sophie what she thought but I discovered she had disappeared feeling a bit confused by hey vanishing suddenly, I decided to go into the room to wait for her.
My Mary Jane shoes made a satisfying click on the black and white tiles as I made my way towards the piano. I was so beautiful I couldn’t but feel compelled to touch it.
As I sat on the softly padded stool an electric shock rocked through my body making me jump off the stool and land with a thud on the marble floor.
I then felt an intense dizziness and had no choice but to close my eyes as the room whirled around me.
When I finally opened my eyes, I could hear the soft melody of the piano playing above me.
I quickly stood up and was surprised to find a beautiful lady with raven black hair that was a stunning contrast against her milk white skin and purple eyes that shined like amethysts.
The lady took her eyes of the piano keys not missing a beat as she gave me a wicked smile with her blood red lips.
Unnerved I took a step back as I did this the piano’s song become violent and darker, unlike the soft lullaby it was playing before.
Becoming really freaked out now I bolted for the door but the lady appeared lighting fast blocking my path.
She ceased my wrist and pinned me the wall. She then let out a scream that sounded far too like the one I heard in my dream last night.
Tears began to streak my vision but they were not ordinary tears but ones caked with blood making the room appear a vivid shade of crimson.
I closed my eyes and desperately tried to think of an escape plan.
But the lady began to lick and stretch my neck. Her long fingernails felt like knives on my skin.
I squirmed and screamed until I gathered all my strength and pushed her off me.
Thrusting the door opened I fled into the room and shut the door with a bang.
Still being pumped with adrenaline I ran out of the castle through the forest until I tripped over a rock that scratched my palms as I tried to stop my fall.
Sitting on the cold hard ground with bleeding palms I willed myself to get up with no sense of direction I stood up and assessed my surroundings.
Their tall autumn coloured trees wherever I looked and a strong wind that flung the branches in obscure angles.
I looked down and found I was standing on the edge of a small lake. The water was murky and dark there was no sign of life within the lake.
Peering down into the water I felt a push and fell into the water.
I didn’t know how to swim and was squirming and gasping to try and keep myself afloat.
Through my blood and now water rimmed vision I saw Sophie standing on the land giving me a cruel smile as she walked away from my drowning body.
My bleeding palms started to turn the water red.
But that’s not possible for a small drop of blood to turn a whole lake red my logic screamed at me.
But alas as I kept of waving my arms a splashing the colour of the water had turned red.
I was beginning to lose my strength and the adrenaline I once felt was turning to fatigue.
If I didn’t start to scream for help now I would die in this lake.
Taking the last bit of energy, I had I screamed for “HELP!” at the top of my lungs.
Having no more strength left I let my body be submerged within the water and let sleep take over.
