Before my body hit the floor, I felt strong arms embrace me.

I turned around in shock to see a girl my age with soft wavy brown hair that framed her heart shaped face and gentle brown eyes. However, her angelic features were betrayed by the suggestive way she lifted her eyebrows and the predatory smile she had on her face.

“Hey sweetie” She purred into my ear.

I could feel the confidence oozing out of her as I lay motionless in her arms.

“Um thanks” I said hesitantly.

I didn’t know what this girl’s intentions were but I was still grateful that she saved me from falling onto the blood-soaked kitchen tiles.

“My pleasure lovely” She said still smiling at me in a predatory way.

Feeling a bit uneasy I tried to stand up on my own but before I could lift myself of her embrace she raised my body in the air and held me bridal style.

I blushed deeply my pale cheeks turning a crimson red.

“It’s ok I can stand up now” I tried to assure the strange girl.

“Well what if I don’t want to let you go” She said assertively.

My eyes widen at her surprising remark I didn’t mind a beautiful girl holding me like this what I didn’t expect it either.

I had more important things to think about than the way she made my heart beat fast when I looked into her eyes.

Ugh, get yourself together Anne! I scolded myself.

“Let’s get you somewhere safe” she declared suddenly.

Before I could even respond she ran so fast out of the house and through the streets of Eden so fast it felt like we were flying.

The girl was heading towards the forest I stiffened up when I remembered that I had only been drowning in the Northwood’s lake last night.

“Don’t worry we're not going to that awful place” she guaranteed.

Instead, once we were in the forest she turned the opposite direction of the Northwood’s estate and moved towards the Huntington castle instead.

I had never been to the Huntington’s castle but knew that it lay in the opposite direction to the Northwood’s not surprising as the families were said to be enemies back in the day. However, no one from the families still lived in Eden since historical tragedy had taken place.

“Hey, where are you taking me” I asked getting a bit panicky.

“ssh sssh it’s ok darling I’m taking you somewhere she can’t get to you” Her eyes darkening at the mention of the mysterious “she”.

“I demand some answers lady! Stop patronizing me” I said trying to sound more confident than I actually was.

“Oh, does the little lady want answers, does she?” She laughed playfully.

“What?” I gasped.

“Oh, you do talk a lot don’t you” She said in the same playful tone.

“I know this will help you relax”

Before I could protest she leaned in and kissed me full on the mouth.

My eyes nearly popped out of their sockets I had never been kissed before how dare she does it without asking me!
