Jul 19, 2017

I had asked the people in the music department of El was in on Monday and they all said they hadn't showed up. My guess is they got sick from going out in barely anything the other day. But Today was the day. I already set up the date and bought the tickets to El's favorite band so I was gonna drag them out even if it meant I had to carry them on my back. I headed to El's apartment. It was quiet cold. I always felt like something was off on this route. Almost like someone was watching me. El always made it better. This was the first time I was walking to their house by myself.

I began up the stairs and went to give a heavy knock. With the first knock the door creaked open. "El..?" I called out their name as I pushed open the door. The apartment looked ransacked. I instantly thought robbery and sprinted in. "El?!" I called as I checked the main room. Not here. I ran to the bedroom. It was worse. The clothes trailed out of it almost like someone was in a hurry to leave. In the bed room clothes were thrown around worse than normal.

I moved piles that could have someone under them. "El!" I was rushing as I went to the bathroom. Maybe the intruder came in while they were showering, I thought. Attacked El. But there wasn't anyone in the bathroom. After a moment to calm myself in the eerily quiet apartment I took out my phone and called the real police. When they answered I told them everything I knew and everything I did. I tried to stay calm but at this point I was honestly loosing it recapping the disappearance of the person I fell for.

I explained the state of the room asked if there seemed to be a struggle. I wasn't really sure what they meant. I explained that it looked like there was a hurry. The 911 operator told me that maybe El just left.

"Left? Where?!" I said with a panicked tone. "El wouldn't just pack up and leave unless something was wrong!" I yelled at the lady even though I knew I probably sounded crazy.

"Calm down sir.. Sometimes families and friends we don't expect to leave do." She said.

"Can you at least send someone down here?!" I yelled again. My eyes were burning with tears I held back.

"Alright sir.. I'll send someone down." After a minute she said. "Please state where you are." She said with a sigh. When I told her she instantly said. "They are on their way." After that she quickly hung up probably so she didn't have to hear me.

When police arrived they said the exact same thing. That El must have 'just left'. I walked home afterwards. I knew this wasn't true, That they just left, it was impossible. El loved it here and didn't have any enemies that I new of. Where did they go..?
