It's been a day since El went missing. I still can't believe that El just got up and left. I panicked earlier when I saw a news report on tv. It was about a 19 to 20 year old male body they found in the river that could possibly be El.
When I heard that I left in an instant. I sprinted and ran all the way to the morgue. When I got there and got in to see the body, I knew it wasn't El as soon as they pulled back the zipper to the body bag. The blonde hair gave it away although they looked similar. well as similar as a human sponge holding to much water could to my childhood friend.
For some reason the body not being El made me feel even worse. It made my heart sink. I told the man that I didn't recognized it and instantly he could tell I was upset. He then said something that gave me some hope.
"Hey kid, if this isn't your friend that means your buddy is out there right? Don't look so down." He patted my back and led me to fill out the paper work to say I attempted to identify the body. I then walked home. It was cold even if we live in a warmer climate. When I got home I did some research on what it would take to find El myself.
At least El would be proud that I finally found my major.
