The girl smiled sadly as the boy told her such painful things. She did not want to face abandonment nor be forgotten. It’s lonely being left behind, she thought, it is so lonely, so very lonely. The boy looked at the girl expressionlessly, the girl did not want to be alone, she just wanted someone to accept and love her. Even though there was no possibility she could  be, she still wanted it. The boy turned away from her. He heard her slowly begin to cry. He could not help her, could not do anything. He could not protect her, as he wanted to. The girl fell on to the floor crying, unsuccessfully trying to understand what was happening. The boy stooped down and embraced her. He understood her pain, for he was lonely also. The girl just kept on trembling, both of them wanted never to be left alone. They did not want to be lonely anymore. They just wanted love, despite the fact no one could give it to them.
