Michael sipped his coffee from a styrofoam cup as he gazed outside the windshield toward the warehouse. He hated stakeouts, they bored him to no end. Despite being invested in this on going case. Waiting for his brother to slip up was always a grueling task, this time was no exception. Over the centuries it was one thing or another but as the end neared it was imperative that he gather more intel. Movement from the alleyway caught his eye and he slunk down in his seat. A person came flying out onto the sidewalk crashing into the gutter. Michael couldn't make out the conversation but he could see another figure as they emerged under the lamppost. Micheal ground his teeth, itching to reach for his gun. The Enforcer kicked the man and laughed loud enough to reach Michael's ears.Seeing him always made him sick and want to put the abomination out its misery. The Enforcer turned and went back through the side entrance. Michael decided to wait and see what the man would do. He had no interest in a human getting booted from the club. They deserved what they got for mingling with his brother. Michael's cell began to vibrate in the cupholder and he looked at the display. Gabriel named flashed across the screen along with the picture of a kissy face emoji. He sighed and picked it up as he started the car and pulled away. Another wasted night with nothing to gain.
" What's wrong Gabe?", he answered as he turned on to slawson heading back to the station.
" Well hello to you to brother. I'm doing fine thank you very much." Gabe had a penchant for the dramatic.
" Look, it's too late for this. What do you want? If it's nothing i'm hanging up," Michael turned onto 7th street and idled at the light.
" Anyway...grump,I think I got a lead. I think it's a Lost One. I'm pretty sure, like 80%. It a young one though."
" Are you sure? We don't have time to chase false leads. We need our brothers. That one is up to something. We are running out of time."
Michael pulled up to the gate and entered his security code. The gate slowly opened as he pulled into the cruiser filled lot.
Gabe yawned as he replied, " I know. That is why i'm calling you. I'm going to track this one but i would like to have your opinion first since they are in your area."
Michael paused mid step with his hand on the door, " In LA? That's convenient. Send me the info and I'll swing by tomorrow for recon."
" Yes, captain my captain!!" Gabe chimed.
Michael hung up before his brother could go on. Having a lost one so close to him made him giddy. The had found most of their lost brethren and only a handful remained. Their ranks would be stronger except for the traitors who turned their backs on their purpose. His family would be as whole as it would ever be.. He signed out, stored his gear and changed into his civilian car. The Bentz pured to life as he started the engine and headed home for the night.
