I ran back to my room, slamming the door behind me almost, although, I had to be careful, I couldn't risk breaking anything because then I would truly be kicked out, I went to the en suite and locked the door, sliding down against the door. What was that?! An Angel? No... that can't be... they don't exist...do....do they?
I quickly got up and walked over to the sink, and washed my face, sighing, I noticed the marking standing visible again, I sighed, and covered it up. My mother never told me how she got it... and whenever I asked, she'd only repeat the word 'Pink' to me...
I heard the door to the bedroom open and I jumped slightly, I stayed silent and listened to see who it was, It sounded like Toni had returned, I quickly got changed into my sweater and leggings and stepped out of the bathroom “a-ah Toni? You don't have any student council work today?” I simply smiled, a little awkwardly.
“Nothing today.” She sounded a little... annoyed? I couldn't really tell. I just nodded and sighed “r-right... I'll just... go read something. Sorry to be a bother.” I quickly sat down on my side of the room and began to read a novel... It was a cute one I had started awhile about... It was about a bunch of dancers with some strange going ons that happened around their world.
I felt Toni's gaze never leave my back as I went about my normal routine in the room. I was incredible scared of what may happen... She couldn't of seen me...right?

The next few days seemed completely normal. I never really had anyone say or do anything to me. I did get to hang out with Ashley a bit more and I learnt about her. She said she's really interested in music and was born out on a strange island. It's such an interesting story. I kinda told Ashley a bit about myself to. She knows my mother is a bit strange and never really talks about things that have bugged her.
It was strange to finally have a friend to talk to about all the strange things that have happened in my life... But I didn't hate it.
Everything was swimmingly well... until friday.
Friday, Toni asked me to come to the student council meeting. I was terrified, scared, confused. I can't really think of more words to describe how I felt. I looked around, noticing that there was there was only 3 others in the room, one being Ashley?
“Ashley-” I started, but was instantly sat on a chair, another girl who seemed all too familiar walked over to me, and pulled the scarf off me, I jumped back fast, since I could wear my scarf in school, I never really covered it up unless I wasn't going to be wearing the scarf that day, and out in full view was a red mark on my neck I had never shown anyone but my mother.
“The mark of Décès...” The girl frowned “was it inherited? Or did you gain it yourself?” I just blinked, confused, they knew this mark? “Zea Harthly. Answer me-” She was suddenly cut off when Ashley chipped in
“Jeez Erika! You gotta be nicer to Zea~ at least introduce yourself!” Ashley giggled, sitting on the table “Don't worry Zea! All will be explained. And besides Erika, I think she was born with the mark.”
I looked over at Toni, confused, unsure of what to say.
“...Zea, you are... what we would call an interesting case... a girl marked by the hands of Death themself...” She sighed, grasping onto her school shirt “With that mark passed down... it's likely you will die by the final year of school you have...” She walked over and sat down next to me “Ashley, Erika and Sharon... are going to help you get that mark removed... but it may be almost impossible to do... even with their joint powers...”
I blinked and jumped up “w-wait wait what? There's no way that you guys can do anything about this!” I blinked, realizing what was said earlier “wait. Die?!” Panic washed over my face “w-what h-how?!”
Ashley simpled patted my back “hey hey don't worry! We're not going to let you die!”
“Perhaps I should explain to Zea?” the final girl, Sharon, smiled. She stood up and walked over to me, placing a hand on my shoulder, I suddenly felt myself calming down, I looked at Sharon, hoping for something to help me understand this...
“Ashley, Erika and I are not human.... Erika is an Angel, I am a Fairy... and Ashley is a Siren. The only reason you would have been assigned to the old dorms, is if you had something in you that was not completely human... and the marking on your neck? That's enough for you to be apart of the mythological side... Toni is only with us because she's the student council president, the only one who can know of this side...”
I just stood in shock... Ashley was a... Siren?
“You know, you don't need to hide the mark right? That mark can't be seen by regular humans.” Erika shrugged, before sitting down “Look. We have 3 years to get rid of the mark... It can't be that hard. It's not like we're running around a cursed location with an item, snapping photos of anything spooky and trying to solve a dead persons wishes?!”
Ashley giggled “you read too many novels.” She walked over to me, hugging me tightly “Don't worry, we've got your back Zea!”
Normal life at school... I guess that was never possible... after all... This mark brings weird luck...
