Unless you plan on fist-fighting all of the zombies you encounter, which isn't the best option because you could easily get infected if one of them happens to bite or scratch you, you'll need a strong, durable weapon.

~ Make sure you have a weapon that you can actually use or learn to use, not just to look cool.

~ Try to get your weapons ready before the zombie apocalypse starts, but if you can't, go somewhere where no one else will go- not a sports shop or a shopping centre for example.

~ Maintenance- If you have a knife, make sure it's always sharp enough to puncture skin and if you have a gun or anything else that needs ammunition, make sure you always have enough with you, you never know when or where you could be attacked.

~ Try to carry more than one weapon with you in case you lose it or find someone who needs one to protect themselves. For example, a knife could easily be dropped and lost in an attack.
