Noia wakes gasping in the dark with only the memory of her name and the undeniable feeling that something is terribly wrong. The remnants of dreams fade from behind her eyelids and she rolls onto her side. There are no sounds of life around her – not the growing of green things, not the skittering of critters – only the sharp crumble of rock. It is cold in her dismal surroundings but faint light comes from an unidentifiable source. She concentrates on learning to breathe evenly again while she waits for her vision to adjust. Unfortunately, the shadows do not become any clearer from her curled up position on the ground. When her lungs are filling consistently with air she sits up. Noia twists and, clinging to the wall at her back, pulls herself to her feet. Her muscles quiver from lack of use but she has spent long enough sitting in the dark.
What situation does she find herself in?
