“Shit, its Ghost,” She looked up at Golem and wondered how she would explain this. Ghost was storming over to them, followed by the class. The class was gawping and whispering among themselves at the sight of the four massive Guardians. Ghost was frowning as he approached the chain link fence, his eyes darting from one Guardian to another.
“I see you are not mages then,” he announced with a slight smile. Then he did something Katie did not expect. He bowed to them all, not just the Guardians, but her and her friends. Diago looked at her, his mouth wide open
“Did he just bow to us?” Katie nodded, aware that her mouth was open as well.
“I think he did!” she looked back to Ghost, who was now deftly jumping over the fence. The class squashed up against the links to get a better look at the four Guardians.
"I welcome you to my school Guardians and Monarchs of the Elements,” Golem leaned his head down to Katie and rumbled in what he could call a whisper.
“Who’s the skinny fellow?” Katie snorted into her hand and Diago repressed a smile. Ghost, obviously hearing this, cleared his throat.
“I am Ghost, teacher of this school and teacher to these four children,” Phoenix snorted, sending shots of fire that nearly frazzled Kyo’s hair.
“Opps, sorry Kyo. Children! They are not children! The are Summoners and nearly fully grown adults. You are little more than a child yourself, I can sense it pale one,” Ghost scowled slightly then cleared his throat again.
“I apologise. I meant no offence. I was wondering if you will be staying here or if you will be returning to your realms soon?” Leviathan raised his head and looked at the other Guardians
“I think he means we are in the way. Perhaps we should leave, as our wards are in no danger any more?” Sky nodded and looked to Diago.
“Is it okay if I depart Diago? I must go control the winds, as sometimes they get up to mischief without me,” Diago, wide eyed, nodded.
“Uh, I guess so. Thanks, for, erm, saving me and stuff,” Sky appeared to smile, a light shining from her face, before rushing upwards suddenly and disappearing in an explosion of clouds. Leviathan unwrapped himself from Dae and touched a part of the playground that wasn’t ruined with his nose. Bright blue lines spread out in a circle and the playground disappeared into water, the smell of the ocean present in the air.
“I too must leave, good bye Dae,” He looked to Ghost once, then dived into the water, splashing the teacher with water. The ocean disappeared, replaced once again with the playground asphalt. Phoenix sighed and screamed to the sky as she abruptly exploded into a roaring fire. Kyo jumped backwards, landing on the ground as the fire died down, the fire bird gone. Katie gripped onto Diago as Golem lowered them to the ground.
“Time to get off please. I need to leave you for now, but you can always call me or one of my Earth children if you are in trouble again,” Diago jumped off Golems hand first, walking to his two friends. Katie watched him go, then looked up to Golem, touching his thumb with one hand.
“Thank you. For saving my friend, I owe you so much,” Golem smiled down to her, his face groaning as the rock separated.
“Anytime little one, just be careful, I won’t always be around. But one of my children will,” Katie nodded, smiling up at the great mountain man, then jumped off and joined her brother. Golem turned to Ghost, one giant finger poking him in the chest. Ghost stumbled, but managed to stay up right under the force.
“You will need to take care of your students. Just because your subject is not Summoning, does not mean that you should just let them find out on their own. I know this school. If I hear you have done wrong again, I will come back. Understand?” Ghost gulped and nodded. Golem nodded shortly back and then drew, with a great grinding noise, mysterious writing into the asphalt around him. The figures glowed and he slowly rumbled downwards into the ground, the playground mending itself above him as he went till there was no sign of him. Ghost, who was now regaining his posture, looked at the huddled group of Summoners.
“I guess we know what you are then. You four may leave to recover from your, er, adventure. The rest of you, BACK TO CLASS,” the class on the other side of the fence jumped at the order and scurried back into the building, talking animatedly about what just happened. Ghost took one last look at the four, scowling slightly, then went through the now repaired gate in the fence, leaving Katie, Diago, Dae and Kyo alone in the playground. Katie looked at the three guys, her eyes still wide with wonder and shock.
“Well I wasn’t expecting that today,” Diago just nodded. Dae scowled, turned and abruptly punched Kyo right in the face, sending the red head to the ground.
“Dae!” gasped Katie. Diago grabbed his arm to hold him back.
“He shouldn’t put you into danger like that. He knows what you would do to save him,” he shrugged Diago off and stormed out of the playground, all three pairs of eyes following him. Kyo rubbed his face as he stood up.
“I’ve never seen him angry before. But he didn’t punch me hard,” he looked to Diago and Katie, confused.
“He was probably worried about you as well,” said Katie as she linked her arm through his spare one. Diago nodded as to agree with her and watched his blue haired friend disappear into the dorm buildings.
“We should go. I don’t know about you guys, but I am hungry,”
