She stands up, and walks over to me before a guy runs in between us nearly putting us both on our asses. "Can we please get out of here?" I ask, look around at the chaos of the room fear sticking in both Nina and I am faces.
"Yeah, I guess you still need to eat lunch." Nina smiles, taking my hand and leading me out.
"Thanks, I'll see you tonight at nine. I have to work tonight." I lean in to hug her. "Also I'm sorry for giving the tape to Keegan it was the right thing to do in my eyes."
"I know, Joe. Do you want to go for lunch before we head back to our classes?" Nina request, flipping her high pony tail off her shoulders.
"I'm good; I have some unfinished business to do." I say before walking back toward the gym. I had to confront Nathan, and his asshole of an ego I hear the dribbling of the ball and I knew that it was him.
I immediately start freaking out, "How dare you think that me out of all people would sleep with someone? How dare you ruin someone's career because of you massive ego? What makes you think I would want to be with someone like you! You cheating scum bag!"
My face feels hot as my fist are clenched up. I look around to see that it wasn't Nathan, but it was Keegan his arm in a sling attached to his torso, his black t-shirt appearing snug on his body which was making his champagne blue eyes sparkle even brighter.
"Well as if my ego couldn't be hit any worse." he roared into laughter, stopping the ball in his left hand. "What you no longer talk?" He smiles as if he amused.
I really didn't want to talk to a guy that blamed me for his accident, I cross my arms, looking down at my feet. God I wish I was Dorothy with the red slippers.
"Well it seems that you already are speaking." He smiles beaming from ear to ear like the Cheshire cat.
"My point exactly," He begins dribbling the ball again walking toward me, "And again with the name calling?"
And he's the one to say something about name calling? "What are you even doing here?" I look up at him, my face blushing from the awkward distance we shared.
"I like coming here to clear my mind, even if I can't play anymore Joey." The way he speaks my name sounds so distasteful, and he goes to calling me Joey.
"It's Joe, not Joey."
He chuckles, "I like Joey more, sounds like a little kangaroo and well you're little." He starts dribbling the ball around me, putting his head to my eye level mocking my not so little height. Annoyed I roll my eyes, snatching the ball away from him. He looks up to me with a smile, and I swear I want to smother him with this ball.
He whistles, "Smooth rookie, but I came here to say thank you." I stop dribbling the ball, making it fall to the ground causing the room to go silent.
"Surprised much?" He says before grabbing the ball from the floor and re-frames to dribbling again.
"Well thinking back to the first time I met you to the last? Yeah my mind has been blown that it took someone to be a good civilian to make you say thank you. Well I'm glad you got the tape."
"Ah and she speaks more than two words." He holds the ball in his arm and claps against it for an applause.
I rolled my eyes, walking my way out of the gymnasium ignoring him was the best option and maybe I should just ignore men all together.
"Wait!" He says grabbing my arm and spinning me around, showing off his glistening teeth. "Aren't you going to say your welcome?" He asks.
I chuckle into laughter; this idiot thinks I'm going to say your welcome after all that he has yelled at me? Forget it. "Why would I?." I jerk my arm back and continuing walking down the hall to my painting room.
And as if he didn't take no as an answer he followed me in, everyone in class looked up to see a brooding six foot guy marching into our class room filled with girls minus Jacob. But he was gay so of course he was goo goo for a little Keegan action, who wouldn't he was the all-star of the college basketball team.
"Young man, what are you doing in this class?" Mr. Fredrick stood up, taking his glasses off making it seem like he could see without them.
"Oh I'm a new student." Keegan says with a slight joke, sitting down at the table.
"Oh, sorry son," He puts his glasses on and continues talking to Jacob about his painting.
Keegan looks to me, and I walk past him sitting at the end of the painters table. He then continues to flirt with the other girls, exhausted with his attitude I tell Mr. Fredrick that I have to work soon so he excuses me from the class. I grab my art supplies and my unfinished canvas and heading out the door.
The sun glistening still keeps me from enjoying the weather, and once again I'm accompanied by the one and only Keegan Murray. "What's your problem Joey?"
Anger urges through my veins. "My problem is you," I take in a deep breath. "You're a cocky, ignorant asshole who believes everyone should bow down to and blame everything else on someone. You have no remorse for the little guy and yet you want the little guy to look up to you?"
I reach my apartment lobby, hoping my outburst would prevent this conversation but no. He still keeps to my pace, I click the elevator button.
And I don't think I ever wanted an elevator to com quicker, Keegan hovers over me. "You know that wasn't very nice."
"And neither are you." I add.
The elevator rings, tell me that I can be Dorothy and head home sweet and knock this goon on his fat douche off and on his ass. I climb in and he attempts to climb in as well, but I push him back.
"What do you think you're doing?" I state stomping my foot on the ground like a five year old wanting chocolate. "Why are you following me?"
"I'm not following you." He says with a grin.
"Why are you grinning all the damn time and if you're not following me, what are you doing?" I ask.
"I live here."
