Chapter 7: "Ahh, yes darling. You see, I'm very thirsty."
Part I: The Drunken Night.
My head was a mess as I was driving my car towards the so-called bar.
Is Alastair alright? Was he going to be okay? Why would he end up getting drunk alone? Someone should have been with him. Wait, what am I saying? He shouldn't have been drunk in the first place.
Why was I doing this?
This was the question that stood out most to me.
Why was I actually doing this? I shouldn't even be doing this.
I was doing this only because I wanted to help a person who was in need of it. Yeah, that is what it was, I thought as I parked my car outside the bar and got out.
I tugged my coat tighter around myself. It was really cold tonight.
I entered the bar and was immediately hit with the smell of alcohol and cigarettes. I scrunched my face in annoyance and started searching for Alastair through the crowd.
I found him sitting in a corner, his hands propped up on the table and his chin in his hands as he stared at the waitress saying something to him. It really looked like he was trying to charm his way into the girl's pants and boy was it working. The waitress was as flushed as a tomato.
I sighed and made my way towards them. Alastair spotted me from his chair as I neared them.
"MAEVE!!!!!you didn't respond to any of my messages." he pouted at me.
The waitress looked at me in confusion and jealousy.
Someone wasn't going to get laid tonight.
I took my phone out in confusion, just to find that I actually had 20 messages from Alastair-all stating his weird drunk thoughts. I hadn't checked my phone since I got off my phone call with Shantell.
"Anything else you'd like, Alastair?" the waitress asked Alastair trying to gain his attention.
"Ahh yes, darling.You see, I'm very thirsty,” he winked at her,” Can you get me a bottle of-?"
"No, thank you. We are done for tonight. I think it's time to get you home, Alastair." I cut him off before he could order another bottle of alcohol.
The waitress just huffed and left without uttering any other word.
"But?"
"No. You are already drunk and need to get home." I said leaving no space for argument.
He made a sound of annoyance but got out of his seat, trying to gain his balance.
I held him side by side by placing my hands on his shoulder. It wasn't easy for me even after being 5'9" since he was probably over 6 feet.
I sighed and we reached towards the reception.
As I was paying whatever the amount of his bill was, I glanced at Alastair to see him standing next to a pillar trying to gain his balance.
Just as I signed the bill, I looked over the amount. Ohh, shit dad was going to have a field day with this. I thanked the receptionist and turned to Alastair to find him gone.
This boy was going to be dead soon.
~~~
I found Alastair sitting on the sidewalk in the next street. My car was still parked in front of the bar.
He was holding something in his hands but I couldn't make out what it was because of the dim street light. He swung his right hand up and Voila there was a bottle of vodka in his hand.
I have no idea how he got that.
I shook my head.
I walked the distance between us and stood in front of him.
"I feel like dancing right now." Alastair said so seriously that I didn't even comprehend what he said for a moment.
"What?"
"Dance with me." He suddenly stood up and gave a pose-in a way such that he was asking me to place my hand in his.
"Let me see you moving, come on." He started singing with me standing dumbstruck in the middle of an empty street.
"Dancing!
Baby, love never felt so good
And I doubt if it’s never could
Not like you hold me, hold me
Oh baby, love never felt so fine
And I doubt if it's never mine
Not like you hold me, hold me
And the night is gonna be just fine
Gotta fly, gotta see, can't believe
I can't take it, cause
Baby, every time I love you
In and out of my life, in out baby
Tell me, if you really love me
It's in and out of my life, in out baby
So, baby love never felt so good"
Oh my god, he can sing and dance so well. I was just speechless. Too shocked to say anything.
"What? You didn't like the song? Should I sing that song from the boy band? What is it called two direction? five direction? four direction? One direction? Yeah,it was definitely one direction." he grins at me.
I snapped out of my phase and looked at him.
Boy, he was way drunk than I thought he was. I face palmed myself.
He started circling around me and pretending to do a dance step where was holding a mic.
He danced around me, mischief in his eyes and started singing again,
"You're insecure don't know what for
You're turning heads when you walk through the door
Don't need make up
to cover up
Being the way you are is enough
Everyone in the room can see it
Everyone else but you
Baby you light up my world like nobody else
The way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelmed
But when you smile at the ground it ain't hard to tell
You don't know
Oh ,oh
You don't know you're beautiful-"
Just as he was about to go into the chorus someone shouted from behind.
I turned my head so fast that my neck hurt.
"HEY!!!What are you doing here?" a scruffy looking older man came out. His gang following him.
"This is my place. What do you want? Huh?" he sounded angry.
"We were just having some fun, douchebag." Alastair shouted.
My eyes widened and I turned to look at him.
Oh no, Alastair needed to stop or he might get us killed.
"You looking for trouble, boy?" the man smirked and came forward.
SHIT.
