They don't understand...

I speak,

And the words flow,

In perfect harmony,

To their ears.

Their postures are straight...

Eye locked onto their targets,

Heads bobbing.

Eyes are the doorway to the soul.

The only thing...

That gives them away.

Hard.

Cold.

Numbness...

Bound to sit in a restless... Stillness.

Just beyond the threshold,

I see

As they play their act.

Observe as they fake their concern.

Truth... Turns into lies.

Mouth... Tightens...

Eyes close...

Inhale,

Exhale.

Will they ever understand?
