"Faye!Get down from there! You'll fall and hurt yourself!" Tina shouts from down below on the ground. I was high up in a tree that was near our small house outside of the town a few miles away. Tina's long, curly blonde hair was neatly tied back in a bun while her pale skin shined like ivory. Her blue eyes reflected her worry for me while I was up in the tree. She wore a pink dress with red hearts on it that went down to the ground covering her feet.
She was tall and very beautiful and a lot of men were chasing after her and wanted her hand in marriage but couldn't ask due to our history with being called freaks for whatever reason. But nonetheless that didn't stop them from coming after her. Tina herself was a kind and sweet girl who cared a lot about people. She was always helping out back at home and would always answer each time I asked her about marriage "I couldn't possibly leave home. Mom and dad need me here to help out since we have no brothers."
All of us appreciated how much she cared about us but deep down we wanted her to be married and with a family of her own. But if she was really happy helping out at home then that was fine with us. I was a bit jealous of Tina since she could get married and have a family and she has good looks but chose not to do so. While me on the other hand, would get in trouble for not listening like today or for other bad mannerisms. My long black hair was tied in a ponytail and my brown eyes filled with happiness as I climbed down the tree. The end of my light blue dress swayed back and forth as I did so. I wasn't very tall like Tina and I didn't think I was that beautiful as Tina regardless on how I look. My pale skin had a bit of a tan since I would spend outside playing in the mud ever since I was a kid.
Tina's skin was pale but not like sickly pale or anything like that, she just didn't go outside as much as I did since mother wanted her doing indoor house work and not outdoor. But she does let her go outside. Father usually works all day on the fields and livestock and has me helping out since I love to be outside so much.
Once I climbed down the tree, I laughed.
"What's so funny?" Tina says with a serious look on her face.
"You and your little worries about me climbing trees. I have never fallen from nor will I." I say with a smile after I stopped laughing.
"Its not funny. You could actually get hurt by falling out of one." she says.
"Yeah, yeah. I know. But it just feels good to climb a tree and to see the view of the forest and the town in the distance from up there." I say.
"Yeah but that's not a reason to climb up a tree and probably fall from it." she says with a serious look still on her face. She had her hands on her hips while she stares at me waiting for me to say something.
"Fine. I won't climb a tree again." I finally answer back after a moment of silence goes by.
"That's what you always say." she says slightly annoyed now.
"Yeah whatever. We should go back home now before mom and dad really freak out." I say.
She sighs. "Fine. But I am not bailing you out again if they scold you again." She says.
