It's been a year since Nie-orya found Ikyo and toke her under her care. She would bring a bowl of warm water to her room for her to clean her wounds and brushed her hair every morning and night. Some days Ikyo would ask about thing that haven't happened yet and some nights she would have dreams of thing to come that was so terrifying for her to see that would be more like nightmares which causing her hold body to be in a cold sweat when she was having them. When Nie-orya finished brushing Ikyo's hair Ikyo would lay her head on her lap. Then Nie-orya would read to her from her family book of spell for Mages to help her to learn how to control her powers that had been unlocked away for so long. When Nie-orya gave Ikyo the healing water and herbs for her wounds they caused her to fall in a deep sleep like trance slowing her healing ability down and it also somehow unlocked her mage powers after not using them for so long.
"Where is Oku?" Asked Ikyo in a low soft voice as Nie-orya was brushing her hair. "Ikyo, who is Oku?" Asked Nie-orya calmy after she had just finished brushing her hair as she was laying her head on her lap. In the town not that far from the house was a young boy who was in the town square who name was Oku Oky in the town square. He was telling the townspeople that he was a magician who was gifted beyond any other because he was born with the power of magic. The towns people believed that magicians powers was from demons because they had powers that humans didn't which some of them more mad at them while others was scared to even be near them. "Look as I make stars appear during the day and flowers bloom in my own hands right before your eyes!!!" Said Oku loudly to the small crowd of people as he was standing in front the fountain in the middle of the town square. Some of the people that was listening started to pick up some stones and threw them at him, one hit the side of Oku's head. Na-aida heard the boy talking earlier when she got a better look at him she noticed he was crarrying a bag with a mage seal on the buckle. She then quickly walked over to him and grabbed him by the ear as some more of the towns people was picking up some more stones throw at him.
"I told you to stay close to me and not to pull any of your dumb pranks by throwing glitter from your pockets and pulling flowers from your sleeves saying it was magic!!!" Said Na-aida sharply to him as shaking one of his arm to make flower fall out of his sleeve and pulled his pockets inside out before she started to pull him away from the growing crowd of angrily people. The elders whispers died down by her words after they seem the flowers and glitter from his sleeves and pockets before everyone got angry at him. "Owww!! That hurts!!" Said Oku loudly in pain as Na-aida was pulling him towards the market. "Hold theses and don't drop nothing or you be chopping firewood all day again!!!" Said Na-aida sharply at he then handed him her bags and some boxes she just bought. "Okay." Said Oku in a low voice as he was looking at her with a puzzled look as he was holding the bags and boxes. "I seen the seal on your bag, the townspeople here don't like people who are let say different because I don't know who is listening. I'll explain everything to you once we leave town after I finished getting all my supplies and you can me Mother Na-aida from now on." Said Na-aida calmly back to him as she was walking through the market looking for more supplies. He just nodded his head at her from behind the boxes after they stopped and she looked back at him without saying a word to her before he looked down it the ground to his side before they continued walking thorough the market.
Back at the house Nie-orya was getting a bowl of warm water ready to clean Ikyo's wounds for the night when Priestess Na-aida and Oku came back from the market. "Nie-orya!! Where are you, I have the supplies you need!!! Take the boxes to the kitchen and don't use magic on them I don't want boxes flying all over this house." Said Na-aida sharply after she toke out some towels and bandages from the bag that she was holding. He did as she said because he didn't want her to hurt him again by grabbing onto his ear like she did earlier if he didn't. "Nie-orya!! She must be dealing with that strange girl. She'll be here in a minute to find you a room." Said Na-aida calmly as she looking down one of the halls in the house. "Strange girl? What do you…" Asked Oku in a low voice as he was looking down another hall and stopped talking when he heard a door open from down the hall Na-aida had called down to that she was looking down.
He then seen a medium size dog with golden fur quickly run up to him from around the corner and knocked him back onto the ground before it suddenly started licking on his face. Nie-orya came from around the corner and quickly sits the bowl of warm water and a brush she was holding onto the table Na-aida placed the towels and bandages on. She runs up to the dog and quickly pulls it off him by its collar. "Sunny!! What's got in to you? Get off the young man and settle down!!! I'm sorry she not like this all the time unless your… your not another mage are you? Asked Nie-orya calmly as she was helping him up from the floor. When their hand touched a small wave of energy went through their hands which made them feel all tingle after they quickly let go which told Nie-orya his gift of touch was compatible with hers. This only happens to mages that are met to be with each other but Oku didn't know what just happened as his hand was still tingling. "Yes, how did you know? Asked Oku in a low puzzled as he was wiping his face off with a handkerchief from his bag. "When a mage is born they are given a familiar that's a magical pet of their choice that is born on the same day they are. Which connects to them to each other making both of them able to sense another mage better than they could before. Sunny here is a lion-dog and my familiar and you are my counterpart." Said Nie-orya calmly as she was rubbing Sunny's ear as she was sitting next to her. "A lion-dog!! Those creatures are very rare to be a familiar because they can be so hard for some mages to control." Said Oku in surprised then he looked down at Sunny for a moment before he looked back up at her.
"I found this young man here causing trouble in the town square saying he was a "gifted magician born like no other", is that how you said it?" Asked Na-aida strongly as she was raising a eyebrow at him as she was looking at him sharply. "Yes, but like I said I was just trying to find a place to stay for the night. I didn't know the people here would act like they did and start to throw stones at me." Said Oku in a soft voice as he was rubbing the back of his head then smiled sligthly at her for a moment. "Oh my!!" Said Nie-orya in surprised after she noticing the blood on the side of his head. She got a towel and soak it in the bowl of warm water and started to gentle clean the blood off the side of his forehead. After Nie-orya finish cleaning his wound Na-aida quickly grabbed him by his ear. "If you do anything like that again I will not save you." Said Na-aida sternly as she was pulling his head down to his side by his ear. "Owww!! Yes mother Na-aida!!!" Said Oku loudly back to her as he was cringing in pain as she pulled his ear down more before she let him go. As he rubbed his ear Nie-orya laughed a little at him for a moment then she smiled slightly at him.
"What's so funny?" Asked Oku in a puzzled voice as he was rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment. "You should be glad your not chopping firewood because after she makes you take a herbal bath." Said Nie-orya in a low soft voice before she started shaking her head at him for a moment. "Why?, what's so bad adout that, it sounds nice to me." Said Oku calmly then he smiled slightly at her as he was holding his hands on the back of his head. "It not as nice as you think, she put healing herbs in the water and the water needs to be hot for the herbs to work and they become hotter as the water colds down." Said Nie-orya strongly as she was holding her hand on her check with her arms crossed. "I take back what I said back, that don't sound as nice at all now that you told me what it really is." Said Oku quickly waving his hands in front of him. Nie-orya covered her mouth and giggled a little him and he smiled slightly at her. Her face started to turn red as she was smiling back at him after she stopped and turned her head to her side as she started blushing. "Mother Na-aida can you tell me why the town people treated me the way they did? Asked Oku in a puzzled voice as he was rubbing the wound on his head for a moment as he was looking at her. Nie-orya looked down at the ground sadly before Sunny started to whimper a little as she was looking up at her. She then started to rub the top of Sunny's head as tears was starting to slightly run down her face. She wiped the tears away then smiled sligthly down at Sunny before she started to gently rub her ear making her wag her tail happily.
"There use to be a family of mages that lived in the house that we passed by near the trail. When you asked me about it I told that it been abandoned for quite some time know now." Said Na-aida in a low soft voice before she she looked at Nie-orya in cornern. She looked back at her and smiled at her to say that she was alright and nodded at her that it was okay to tell him why the house was abandoned. "The couple that lived there had gone to the market to get enough food to last through the winter which had came early that year. The snow was already started to cover the ground and some more was starting to fall again that day. Sadly no one in the market wanted to sell to them because they live in the forest. Which the townspeople never go near they won't even traveled through the forest because its full of so many kinds of magical and mythical creatures." Said Na-aida calmly as she was looking at him then at Sunny for a moment as Nie-orya was rubbing her ear.
Many years ago at the Market
"Please sir we have more than enough money to pay you." Said the young man showing the food merchant man his money for the food they need from him. "Please we have two young children at home to feed and our crops aren't enough to last through the winter." Said the young woman begging as she was holding her hands together in front of her against her chest. "If you people need food then you can eat with the dogs." Said the food merchant man before he snatched the money from the young man's hand grabs a piece a piece of meat from his stand and throw it at the some stray dogs. Na-aida was watching what was happened as she was finishing selling some of her goods to one of the merchant near by. She walked up to the food merchant man and the young man smiled sligthly at her before he and the young woman stepping out of her way. The couple looked her and the merchant sadly when she looked back at them for a moment. The young man smiled sligthly at her as he was wrapping the young woman up in more cloths before she looked at the woman and smiled slightly but only for a moment before she looked away from her. "I forgot to buy a few supplies from you the other day." Said Na-aida sweetly to food merchant as she was smilimg slightly at him. "Yes I'll be glad to "help" you." Said the food merchant man strongly after he glared at the couple for a moment then he turned to her and smiled.
When she was finished dealing with the merchant she had bought enough supplies for a whole family. "Do you need help carrying your supplies up the hill?, I could have some of my men help you up to the top." Said the food merchant man nicely after she handed him the money for the supplies. "No I"ll have this strong young man here help me, I don't want to have your men walk up such a steep hill and get hurt running back to town with all this new snow on the ground." Said Na-aida sweetly after she looked back at the couple for a moment then smiled sligthly back at him. The young woman looked up at the young man and nodded up at him to say that it was okay to help her. "It will be my pleasure to help." Said the young man kindly then he toke the supplies from the table and smiled sligthly at her. They walled up the hill with Na-aida leading them into the forest right to their house. When they got closer to it Na-aida seen a young boy working in the field before they enter the house.
When they closed the door behind them a enter a small girl ran up to the young woman happliy. "Mama, papa, your home!!! Did you get any food for us?" Said the young girl cheerfully after she had quickly hugged her mother. The young woman looked down at her before she kneeled down to her and hugged her tightly in her arms with tears started to run down her cheeks as she was hugging her. "No, Nie-orya baby." Said Mama in a low sad voice in her ear before she wiped her tears away and looked at her and smiled slightly at her after brushing some of Nie-orya's hair behind her ear. The young boy had came in from the fields and seen his mother wipe her tears away. "It okay mama, I will just work in the field harder for all of us. So please don't cry, mama because I love you and papa and Nie-orya no matter what happens to us and you two Sunny." Said the young boy cheerfully with a bright smile then Sunny ran around him for a moment. "Leo my sweet boy, your not as strong as your papa is right now, but your heart is in the right place. That's makes me love you more every day." Said Papa in a low soft voice to him after he had as sat the supplies on the kitchen table and kneel down to him and hugged him.
Nie-aida heart was touched by the boys words and the small girl smile as she was playing with the young puppy they called Sunny. "We'll be right back after we help this nice woman carry her supplies home, okay. Remember that mama loves you both more than the star themselves." Said Mama in a soft sweet voice before she hugged them both tightly in her arms. "I love you more than the moon and star together." Said young Nie-orya sweetly as she was hugging her back with her brother then kissed her mother's cheek. "So miss how much farther do you need us to take these supplies up the hill for you?" Asked Papa calmly as he rubbed his son's hair as he was standing by him. "Papa!!" Said young Leo strongly then he started to fixed his back hair. "Now that far I just need your help to put everything away." Said Na-aida sweetly after she handed the children each a apple and they thanked her before she headed in the kitchen to put everything away. "But what about you?" Asked Mama quickly in surprise as he was looking at her in shock for a moment.
