“Aaaaaa” was the only sound Aaron managed.

“You shouldn’t rush like that mate.” the voice started again and Aaron was sure it was Dan’s.

“Dan? Where am I?”

“Why, you’re in my residence mate. Temporary residence that is.” said Dan. “I know it’s not what you’re used to but it was the best i could afford right now.”

“What happened?”

“Ah, it was classic. You got drunk, went to piss, fainted and knocked your head against the urinal.”

Aaron got up and went to the bathroom looking for a mirror. The state of the bathroom made the other room look like operation room. He finally found a broken mirror on one of the walls and after some hard concentration managed to see the gash on his forehead.

“That’s gonna leave a mark.” he thought.

Stumbling back into the room he saw Dan’s silhouette standing on a chair in one corner of the room.

“You brought me here?” asked Aaron

“Well, i couldn’t leave you there. Could I, mate?”

“Thank you.”

“Nah, don’t sweat it mate. That’s what old friends are for.”

It was only then that the thought struck Aaron. “Lucy”. She was supposed to pick him up and go home. He rummaged through his pant’s pockets looking for his phone.
