Aaron was frozen. His thought process was overloaded. It took him over a minute before he finally came to.
“Darling, is everything OK?” the voice from the other side kept asking.
“Yes, yes. Everything is alright now.” Aaron managed to say.
“OK darling, you got my heart racing for a moment there. Be sure to remind my daughter that she still has a mother, will you?”
“Will do. Have a nice weekend. Bye bye.” said Aaron before ending the call.
He looked around the the bedroom. Everything looked out of place, dirty. This wasn’t the same room he woke up in the day before. Aaron was sitting down on the top stair overlooking the first floor. The entire house was a mess.
“It’s happening again, mate.” said a voice from behind him.
Aaron looked behind only to see Dan there, propped with one shoulder against the wall. He had the biggest grin yet. It was cold and cruel, his eyebrows raised so high they almost met his hairline.
“What are you doing here?” asked Aaron as he jumped to his feet.
“Oh, I’ve always been here mate.”
“You followed me?”
“Mmmm...not quite. I mean: I’VE ALWAYS BEEN HERE. HERE WITH YOU, MATE. You just ignored me.”
“No….no no no no...NOOOOO. FUCK NOOO.” screamed Aaron while he ran down the stairs.
“I see it happened again, mate.” said the voice.
...to be continued...
