“Aiden, wake up time for school!” I awoke to the sound of my abuelita screaming in Spanish. Everything in our house is either old or Mexican or maybe both. I always complained about our stuff but it never really mattered to me as I grew up protected from the world. Since I was known as the witch's boy, no one ever wanted to hang with me, except for Alex and Liv, but we'll get to that later. I could only look at people from afar and wonder what it would be like to have many friends.
However, this year was going to be different; I could feel it. I was finally going to get a girlfriend and maybe socialize more since I moved to a different school.
“You better be dying when I get up there! Because I have been calling you for the last five minutes,” shouted Abuelita.
“Oh I’m not dying. I’m sure.” There is my life for you, plain and boring. As I take off my shirt I use to sleep with, I hear the sounds of my Abuelita moving in the kitchen. Sometimes, I wished she wasn’t there to begin with. But, who would be there when I had a bad day? So, I’m glad she isn’t gone.
My choice of clothing, some would say, lacked taste and color. I was wearing a large t-shirt and Adidas Superstar pants. I would say I am not a large guy but I wouldn’t say I’m a model. I have a girlish figure and I was just too short for my age. I wore big things because I liked wearing my dad’s shirts. It always feels like he never left.
