I walked around school and everybody there, except Liv and Alex, would see me and then crouch into the deepest corners of the school and avoid me. I was a nobody. A loser. Another person on the earth who would die unnoticed.
Liv was probably the best part of my day after Alex.
Since we were six, he would come over to my house and play with me. I was believed to be the town witch (or the girl who was to have magical abilities that no one should inherit). He’d come over and bring me his old toys and we would play about any topic that our little minds knew about. Once Liv moved to town, we’d all go to my house and play ever childhood game you could think about. To this day, I still don't understand why those two chose to hung out with me as I still was a shy loser as a child too.
Life was simple like that, in those days. That was before I started to have the accidents. The permanent accidents. They were at first small and unnoticeable, but as I grew older, they grew more uncontrollable and wild.
The first accident in my life was that I had accidentally murdered a homeless man. I was walking along as I noticed that there was a knife on the ground and obviously, as I was a genius in those days, I picked it up and decided to run with it. The poor man happened to be nearby and he began to chase me since I took his knife. I thought he was playing me but when he almost grabbed me, I held out the knife to him only to stab him in the stomach. He crumbled to the ground and died. I was only fourteen. It’s been three years since then and things only got worse.
“Aiden! The bus is here and if you expect me to drive you…”
“No Abuelita that won’t be necessary.” The things I do to make her happy, I thought.
