Looking through the Eyes

Hannah's Entry Two

Hannah's Entry Two

Aug 16, 2017

I felt helpless at this large beast was on top of me, the pack surrounded me yipping aggressively lowering themselves as if hunting prey. I looked into the eyes of the bigger wolf but the rage was gone as it came to my neck and sniffed me. In his eyes I saw the shining moon light reflecting in it and I was confused.

The wolves circling us had stopped as well seeing what seemed to be their leader, had not hurt me. His jaws clamped slowly and he pulled away, very gently. I got up slowly shakily, my throat growing dry as the wolf turned its back on me. “Who are you?” I asked closing my fists. “What do you want with me?”

There was an outburst of laughter but the black wolf did not say a single word. He was quiet and before my eyes he began to morph. His fur going into his pores, this body’s figure grew small and in the moon stood a man. I was surprised frankly he wasn’t naked. He wore jeans with several holes but was shirtless with a toned body.

I would have thought he was attractive but something about him was so ugly to me. He was repulsive, he turned around with a gorgeous face that I just found hideous. This monster was disgusting looking. It was a man, taller than my father, stronger. He had tanned skin with long black hair that fell to his chest. His eyes were those of a cold killer, a color of pure gold. He had a powerful jaw that was clenched and his body was tense.

What scared me the most was his eyes, they never changed from when he was a wolf. They were still yellow with black slit pupil that widened when he seemed to be thinking of something.

He lifted his hand in the air and the cackling wolves stopped laughing. In fact they crouched with their heads bowing respectfully. He began to take large steps towards me. I had nowhere to go. “What do you freaks want?!” I shouted trembling, it was my only defense-my voice.

Before I could say anything else I felt my throat being collapsing and I gagged. I looked down to see a big hand completely wrapped around my thick throat. My eyes met with murderous golden ones. This creature was incredibly fast who moved so fast.

He got up right to my face and with a loud rough voice he screamed “Don’t you ever think you can say that about us again, I see you have not learned how to respect others by just calling them freaks. That’s a rude way to introduce yourself, I think you need to learn something.”

I felt my body slammed to the ground and I groaned trying to get up. As I tried to get up again, I felt the man’s foot slam into my ribs. I screamed, tears bursting forth from my eyes. His laugh echoed from my ears, as he kicked my face. I felt to the ground grasping my rib cage. I didn’t feel broken but badly bruised. It was hard to breath and I felt two big hands grab my ankles dragging me over the rocks and leaves on the forest floor.

I wiggled and squirmed. The man boomed “I saw what you did to one of my omegas, thinking I could be merciful to one human pack but I was wrong. You’re all the same, killers.”

“What?!” I screamed at him, I spat at his arms writhing, my hands trying to grab on trunks of trees or something.

“SILIENCE. Have you been asked to talk? Stupid, girl, what a stupid girl who knows nothing.” The man said spitting back at me. He used my grasping of trunks to his advantage. I felt as I tried to grab on to a branch he ripped my legs in the opposite direction then full force to part of the trunk near the branch. I screamed out in pain my nose bleeding.

I grew quiet, as he went on. The wolves followed between the trees, sometimes getting in my face barking to scare me. “Humans, disgusting creatures. Shooting my right hand man in the eye, killing an omega. So I an eye…for an eye they say. Try to show a little goodness, I was going to even intervene for some odd reason to make sure none of your family was.”

The more he spoke the more torturous it was. Tears fell down my face and the pain made my vision blurry. “Now I’m going to make you pay, for everything your kind has done. It’s people like you who destroys the world’s positive opinion on humans.”

His last words were all I needed to remember for the next few days, I blacked out then as he dragged me close to a boulder on purpose. I blacked out with one quick whack on the head.

Next Night

I woke up very thirsty and hungry, I kept my eyes shut remembering what kind of situation I was in. The first then I smelled was smoke, smoke of a fire and warmth from the ending summer chills.

“What do you think he is going to do with this man child?” The voice was of a female’s with deep concern.

“I want her dead.” Said another voice. “Her insides spilling-look at my eye Tabitha, her father as brought this upon me!”

I heard a few muffles of several others crying. One voice said “Brian…he’s dead and your fucking whining over your eye?”

“Be quiet, stop your crying another dead is dead nothing to mourn on. You’re all just wasting energy. I’ll do what I please.” I heard four paws coming fourth in my sound range.

Before anyone could respond he continued and I felt something hush and hot speak over my ear. “I know you’re awake, your breathing pattern has changed. I’m not dumb.”

My eyes shot open in horror seeing a man above me. It was the man dragging me on the forest floor before my head hit the tree trunk. I was expecting a wolf since I thought I heard shifting of four legs. I saw a few shadowed faces around the fire with a few as wolves (in the corner of my eye). They all stared at me, these beasts just curiously gazing at me. In that exact moment, it dawned at me all this was a truly existing nightmare. I could feel my hair in knots, twigs and leaves entangling in it, worst of all I felt my rib cage and head. I had a very nasty headache and it was hard to breathe.

I was speechless and afraid to get hit, I just stared into the cruel creature’s eyes. He pulled away without striking me. “Louis, Travis.” The beast spoke in his harsh tone. Two men who were the closet to me, stood up. I laid frozen, like a chipping away china doll.

The man who called the two men to their feet turned his shirtless tanned back on me. I could see his back was like a statue, he stayed frozen as if the sculptor was still sculpting who he was right in front of me.

I yelped feeling four arms grappled me. I writhed screaming as they stood me up. I kicked my legs out trying to break free but it was useless. Even trying to use the self-defense moves my father taught me were nothing. They stood sturdy, they were bigger and taller than me as well. I could barely see Louis or Travis’s face even in the fire. I was drawn into moment of panic. I felt my mind shutting down, especially when the leader turned slowly to look at me.

“Your all wondering what I will do with her, surprised I haven’t let you feast on her.” The man said staring straight in my eyes, as if to challenge the person who I was, in me. “I’ve decided to spare her, for one thing.”

I felt my face drain and I stopped struggling to listen to him. I soaked in his big strides towards me. He got up very close to me bending down just to keep eye contact. “She’s my punching bag for now.”

I yelped as with his words wrung in my ears like loud bells. I felt pain throughout my abdomen. My head jolt forwards and my stomach inward as he punched me right in the gut. I felt hot tears forming but I wasn’t going to give him what he wanted. I blinked them away looking up at him straight in the eye. “Why are you being a playground bully, I’ve done-“

Before I could finished I felt another punch, but this time his fist literally crashed into my stomach. “Have you be asked to talk!?” He snapped punching once more with a hard slap across my face. I felt the burning sensation on my round cheek. “You have killed one of my omegas. You have killed part of my family. You deserve death, but I’m going to give you a worst punishment.”

I shivered, squeezing my eyes tightly. I felt two spite wads hit one on each of my eyes, it slimily slid down my face. “Here,” The leader spoke. “Stop looking like you are tough when I see your eyes forming your shame.”

He kept punching me, his fists full of anger and I felt my whole body collapsing. I was officially a broken china doll on his last strike. I coughed and gagged on my own blood that drippled down my chin. “Release her.” The Leader ordered.

I fell flat on my knees. All the eyes watching me was too much, so many eyes, so many sounds of crickets, frogs and night owls. This pain I felt and the blood that my tongue tasted. I stared at the ground, wondering if my family made it safe. I was angry at my father for leaving me. I would never forgive any of them, especially not him. He left me for the wolves.

I felt a shoeless foot slam in my chest throwing me back on the ground. I cried out in pain trying to spit all the blood out. My headache grew worse and I could barely breathe without it hurting.

“Alpha, this is too much.” I heard a voice say. A man stood up, he looked related to the leader who he addressed as ‘Alpha.’ He had though short jet black hair and his eyebrows were less thick, his built was shorter but he was more lean muscle than bulk. His eyes were the same as the Alpha’s never changing that scary yellow color and thin pupil. It was just like a cat’s. The man went on, “This is too much for anyone give her rest.”

The Alpha rose his hand to strike, turning around so fast to meet the other werewolf. His fist closed opened and it dropped. Alpha, which was the name apparently of the leader walked away pushing on the shoulder of the man. “Watch her David, I’ll be back.”

David, the man nodded and as the Alpha left, he whispered to a woman. She had blonde hair with a wavy texture. She had smooth lightly tanned sun kissed skin. She nodded to David giving him a thermos. He thanked her, approaching me slowly.

He knelt down to my head, lifting with one hand my head as the other poured the water in my mouth. He said softly he understood it was hard to move and just rest. I took his advice on resting, the pain was making me exhausted. I had to escape I had to get out of her but these beatings were weakening me. Were they doing this on purpose?

The water was cool down my throat but the mixing of blood made it taste disgusting. I was uncomfortable with his kindness, why was he being gentle with me when I killed someone called Brian. This made no sense, he was the opposite of Alpha.

“Why do you give her the thermos?” Barked a wolf. It was the one my father shot in the eye. He was just as big as the Alpha, his eye looked like in pretty bad shape. It swelling and still bleeding slightly. He sat near the fire looking at me as if I was a piece of uneatable trash. “She does not deserve this treatment nor has she earned it.”

I stared at the pattern of the gray with a few black fur patch coat he had, never forgetting it. David responded grimly to him; “Ulding there is an old parable that your grandmother use to tell us remember?”

The girl with blonde hair began to speak as David handed her the thermos back. “It was about the elf and the fairy correct? Tell us this tale, I love this one.” Her eyes glowed towards David who warmly smiled.

In the corner of my eye, I saw Ulding, the one with the messed up eye my father gave him, huff loudly. He and the other wolf who witnessed his eye being shot, began to walk away from the camp. So did three others, only nine, not including myself was at the fire. David never left my side and the rest of the pack drew near him. The wolves crept closer and the humans scooched over, only the girl with blonde hair was just inches away from me though, the rest stood two or three feet away. As if I was some infected sick person.

"A large wolf caught the elder’s eye. He was young, powerful with sleek thin coat summer still. He was strong and arrogant look in his eye. He looked so young and proud but his eyes sadden. His body hunched seeing the Alpha, he lurked closer. Almost nervously sniffed the Alpha. His eyes met with the blood on the white fur and his eyes widened. "

That day on, Boron Shadow was the Alpha of the Shadow Pack with his father, the pack leader passing away in front of him. It was by the shotgun wound from the hands of a human. Already having his mother murdered brutally from humans he already struggled under the impression humans all of mankind was wicked.

As his hate grew he found himself, finding a human girl named Hannah. Someone he couldn't slay or her family confused why he couldn't.

This is Hannah's story not Boron's, a girl trapped in a new way of life and culture, one no human could possible survive. So the question that haunts her in her struggles, how did she survive a year of dealing with monsters? And were they monsters?
++++This story is not a romance or a usual one, I'm very realistic with things and especially with violence. This story does deal with abuse and trauma going throughout the book. ++++
