"So you're telling me that you talked to Dallas Black? And then you left Dallas Black behind?" Savannah guffawed. She had been in slight shock at the whole situation since Crimson told her about it.
People filtered around them, going about their own business in the mall. The three girls used to hang out there, before Sage left. Now they were back in business.
"What's the big deal, Anna? She just talked to him," Sage said, before looking at Crimson. "Unless they had sex on the wall of the school."
Her face scrunched, and she smacked Sage on the arm for putting that god-awful image in her head. "God, Sage, I guess spending a year in Germany really didn't help your sick humor."
Sage laughed, "Well, I think I'm hilarious."
"Most psychopaths think they're okay, too," Savannah retorted. Sage rolled her eyes while laughing slightly, happy to be back with her friends.
"So how was Germany? You didn't really give us any details earlier," Savannah said, then she smiled. "Did you meet someone?"
Sage blushed, trying to deny Savannah's accusation. The two other girls laughed, then leaned in for the details they'd make Sage tell.
"It's nothing. He just wanted to keep in contact when I came back to the States," Sage said honestly.
"Yeah, sure," Crimson rolled her eyes.
"How's Michael?" Sage questioned, before they could take the conversation forward. Crimson looked like she was going to call Sage out on changing the topic, but Savannah already started to gossip about the boy.
"Michael and Lily broke up!" Savannah blurted out, making Sage's eyes widen. When she left Rosafeld for a year, she was expecting the "Golden Couple" to be engaged or something, not broken up.
"Yeah, Lily must've done something bad enough for Michael to ask his friend to break up with her for him," Crimson added. She couldn't ignore the flit in her heart when she thought about Michael. Everything about him was perfect for her. His hair, his lips, and his goddamn eyes.
But no matter how many times her heart fluttered at the thought of him, she only excused it as a infatuation.
"That's low," Sage admitted. "Even for someone like Lily."
Sage and Lily were never best of friends for reasons she never told Savannah and Crimson, much to their disappointment. Whatever had happened between them was huge.
"I heard it was because of Crimson. A little birdie told me that Michael has a crush on a certain red-obsessed female that also reciprocates his feelings," Savannah said in a sing-song voice.
Crimson rolled her eyes, ignoring the looks the two girls gave her. "Do you seriously believe that? Michael just knows me as the girl who knows everything that's happening around school, not as his crush."
"Do you seriously believe that? I've seen the way Michael looks at you when you walk down the hall. I'm honestly surprised it took him this long to break up with Lily," Savannah admitted.
Just as she opened her mouth to retort, the scraping of the chair next to her on the floor interrupted her. Following Savannah and Sage's shocked looks, she turned to see Dallas Black sitting next to her with a smirk on his face.
"Hey, doll," Dallas smirked.
