For weeks we had been watching the nest of them. Vampires.
They were using an old dairy factory in the oldest part of town as their place of work. By week two we had figured out the main majority of their numbers and what they were using the factory for. They were using it to breed humans to be living, breathing blood bags.
My alpha had given the word to take them out on week six. Here I was week seven being briefed for the attack.
"Erin you will be leading the second group of warriors in through the back"
It took a few seconds before it set in on what Wyatt the elder warrior leading the whole mission had said. Why suddenly was u leading a group of wolves, this was a first time for me to be leading.
"Everyone shift and let's go." Wyatt said sharply.
We all started to peel off our layers of clothing and accessories and shifted. Once I was shifted into Wolf form I gave my fur a brisk shake. A growl ripped through the crowd of us warrior signaling for us to start the attack.
Trees flew past me as we ran from our land into the streets of the town. Most of the town folks knew about our ability to shift into giant wolfs. They all turned a blind eye and went about their daily lives. I led the group of wolves I was leading around the back and we shoved the door aside, shoving clean threw the thin metal.
Vampires poured out of each and every door and opening. We tore threw vampire after vampire until my unit met with the front unit.
A few of us shifted and we began searching for paperwork and anything else we didn't know.
"Blackwell in here"
There was a hole in the floor and I was the smallest properly trained warrior wolf there.
I dropped into the hole and looked around, my eyes could pick up a few objects in the room but not much. I gave the signal to widen the floor.
"Drop the floor"
I backed up as rock chunks crashed in front of me. Light sticks were thrown in the room and it lit up the horror around us. Blood seemed to coat every surface in the room. It was a wonder we weren't knee deep in it. It was hard not to completely lose my lunch. We all had masks clipped onto our belts we all wore. Our belts stretched when are shifted our forms so there was another problems of the belt breaking or being dangerously tight on our wolf forms.
" Erin stay clear we are dropping into the hole."
Both teams jumped into the hole and they all cringed at the sight of all the blood.
" what the fuck happened down here, like fuck."
"Honestly I have no idea, it's like a sea of blood down here."
we pulled out Flash lights and got to work on looking around in the place. I was glad for our masks when we stepped into a side room where decomposing corpses filled the entire room. The sight alone would make even someone with a hardened stomach vomit and gag. I nearly vomited when I stepped onto a rotten corpse and my foot went right threw the stomach area. The scent of vampires got stronger the more we went deeper into the the area they had under the building. It was clear this as a basement or some sort of a celler but they had tunneled threw the cement wall and made other areas. Most likely where some were sleeping right now.
The sound of a helicopter took our attention away from the tunnel and the vampires.
"Stick to the shadows. We have trouble." I said only loud enough to be heard by the wolves I was leading.
With any luck I was hoping for another exit to get out of this tunnel system. The sound of footsteps echoed right behind us, clearly they were here for the same reason we were. Only problem now was that we had to watch out for the SNSO & vampires. Those soldiers were nasty arseholes, they shot first and asked questions later, so the new mission was to avoid those giant dick bags.
We came to a sewer system and I sent the guys on their way ahead of Wyatt and myself.
" When you get out of the manhole, run and don't stop." Wyatt said sharply.
"Blackwell, you run last. You are the fastest Runner I have faith in you son. See you at the pack."
They took off one by one and I was left waiting for a few moments before I made my way out of the manhole. The sound footsteps behind me made my stomach jump into my throat. Fast Runner or not I was going to have issues getting out of here. The first shot rung out and I felt it hit me in the back of the thigh. The drug was racing threw my system and making it pretty impossible to shift. I ran towards the first group of trees that I saw and hid under some under brush. All my senses were off so I never noticed the male twice my size pretty much behind me. I yelped when the second dart was shot into my shoulder from point blank range. I tried to stand up and run but the guy just shoved me back down into a sitting position.
"Just sit wolf, your in no position to run from me."
Soon his whole team was around him and two of them drug me to the helicopter that they had flew in on. Before they loaded me into the helicopter the one who captured me stabbed me in the thigh with a different dart. The need to sleep crept over me fast and I couldn't resist.
"Sweet dreams wolf." He said chuckling softly.
Blackness set in as I closed my eyes. I was so dead.
