I laid beside Pierce under the moth chewed blankets. He was pressed against me and softly breathing against the top of my head. I closed my eyes and laid my head against his chest since he had pulled me against him. His skin was really warm to the touch but he still shivered. I had all but forced him to eat some of the rabbit I had caught as well as some of the pills I had stolen.

The pills seemed to work, a little while later I felt his temperature drop down, I started to feel much better. I could actually sleep now, I let my eyes closed and I listened to his heart as it helped me fall asleep.

I awoke to Pierce thrashing around in sleep, I shook

him and his eyes shot open. he pulled me against his chest into his lap and I couldnt get him to let me go. He was terrified of something.

" You're okay, Pierce you're safe. Whatever you're scarred of I won't let it get you."

"He tried to take you."

"Who tried to take me?"

"My father, he shot you.... I...I was so scared."

"I'm okay------"

"I know what happens when you lose your mate, I can't .... I won't..."

I shoved myself out of his arms and pushed him against the ground.

" Shut up and go back to sleep you need to get your rest and energy back."

"Kay.... Night." He said softly closing his eyes.

I laid awake beside him until the sun rose up into the sky. He would need some food to help rasie his energy up so that we could move early tomorrow morning.

I sniffed the ground scenting the area for something that I could eat and feed to Pierce as well. My ears picked up on the sound of something walking around not to far from me. The scent the flooded my nose was that of a deer. I snuck up behind the deer and just as I went to take it down a pain erupted in my side and I looked down at the arrow sticking in my side. A voice hollered from up in a tree.

"Holy fuck dude, I hit a giant wolf."

I turned and saw the person getting closer.

"Hey big guy, let me pull that out of your side and we can both just go on our ways."

I let out a growl and looked around to make sure I wouldn't be getting ambushed. The guy stuck his arm out and grabbed the end of the arrow and gave a rough tug and it ripped threw my flesh on the way out.

Motherfucker.

"You wanted that deer to huh?"

I could shift right now and grill this guy on where we were. There was the chance he would run away and I would have scare him into not telling a soul. I mean what was there to lose at this point....

I shifted.

The guy who must have only just entered his early twenties if he was lucky stood in shock.

"Holy fuck!"

I felt the blood running down my leg from a spot up near my ribs.

"I need your help."

"Why.. I mean I did mean to shoot you I swear."

"That's not why I need your help."

"O....Okay."

"Where are we?"

"Zegwood Forest..."

Zegwood Forest... that's not that far from my pack another half day to a day of slow traveling and I would be home.

"Do you have anything to treat fevers?"

"Ummm I don't think so... but I can grab something if you need it.... I mean as I sorry for your side, on that note are you going to be okay your bleeding a whole lot."

"Follow me, I won't eat you, you have my promise human."

The human and I walked back to the cave, we walked inside and Pierce was sitting up. He looked at the kid beside me in shock.

"Eddie what are you doing here?"

I looked between the two of them confused. Pierce suddenly realised he needed to fill me in.

"He is the mate of a werewolf in these parts, the same wolf that turned me..."

I turned and glared at Pierce.

"You know where this wolf is and you couldn't even fucking say something, you could have fucking died and your sitting on important fucking shit like that." I snarled out

"It wasn't fucking important and I don't want anything to do with the fucking monster that bit me." Pierce snarled his face suddenly filling with concern when he seemed to notice the blood.

"What happend?"

"I got shot with and arrow."

"YOU FUCKING LITTLE ASSHOLE." Pierce snarled and jumped up wobbling around, I grabbed him before he fell. I turned towards the guy, Eddie and spoke softly.

"Please get your mate. We need his help."
